Oooo btw we did a car boot last weekend the kids enjoyed it, they sold a couple of old toys they dont use, we let them keep that.

In fact my eldest has turned out to have a very good sales technique, the middle child just says 'five pounds' when anyone asks him how much things are!

We sold quite a bit off stuff that has been stored away and used the money we made, about £80, to pay for this weeks shopping and travel expenses:cool:

So So this week. I have heard form Payplan again today to say that I need to start making repayments on the lower amount now so that is good. Although I have not heard anything form the dreditors yet.

Have you thought anymore about lowering your DMP payments at all? You are like me, struggling to keep your head above water. We have no savings and I dread something cropping up that will need to be paid for with money that we have not got !

I was just reading your signature..I love the Winston Churchill quote !

glad they are letting you pay the lower amount, it all helps doesnt it.
I havnt contacted them yet  i should do i must admit i am a little scared of getting in touch but my incoming has reduced so much from around 700 to 400  270 is student bursary and the rest is extra work i do when i can

That is great and kids love that sort of thing don't they.

That is something that we could do but don't you have to be organised to do that ! ! LOL

I am up as I cannot sleep. I have anxiety attacks and they hit me when I try to sleep ( all part and parcel of this debt trap ) so I get up, have a cup of tea and try to take my mind off it and lurk the boards !

Just wanted to say Hi and that I am going through the same as you and your family. The post you wrote the other day in reply to mine really struck a chord with me. You are right that when you are in this mess, so much suffers and marriages are the first to be affected with all the stress that goes with it all. So what you wrote really echoed how I felt too !

Anyway, you take care and speak soon. I am off to bed to dream about car boot sales and if I can get one of my kids to stand there and say "That will be £5 Thanks !"

Hi all you knowledgable guys. My sister is just commencing a DMP with CCCS and the majority of her debts are with the Abbey (Loan, CC & OD). I've just heard that they are in the process of taking over the A&L which is where she currently banks. When the tackover occurs will the Abbey be able to take her money to pay off her debts? I know you always recommend opening an account with a bank that she has no debts with and this is what she's done. What's the most likely outcome here?

Its a bit uncertain no one really knows. I know when cheltenham and gloucester became Lloyds proper they had to send out information warning people that the companies would become one. I am assuming it would be the same for this too.

What has me pondering is now someone has posted to say Santander are buying GE Money, we have an old Burtons card which I am sure was with GE Money but quickly got passed over to a DCA who are connected to GE Money. I am wondering if that DCA would pass it back or if its sold on its sold on whether companies are related or not.

    And now my brain hurts!

Yes but it was a few months ago and since then high street products have gone up. I think I was very lucky. Previous to that I was on a poor credit product and my rates were 9.5% and it was a LIBOR rated mortgage which are bad news.

Of course it will settle down eventually but I believe it will get worse before it gets better and things cannot start to improve until we see just how bad things get. I genuinely believe we will go into a recession and technically we are not there yet.

    Hi Rayday,

I know we have spoke about this before, Do you think i am going to be able to remortgage when my deal runs out in 3 years time???

Do you think the rate is going to be as much as double the normal rate at that time??

It was me that posted the GE money article - I had a Debenhams card (GE Money) with a huge balance and am now a little concerned about this. At the moment CL Finance seem happy to accept the DMP and it is all going smoothly. Guess I will just have to read any A&L terms and conditions updates very carefully

Thanks Rayday and Newlywed. WHy do thwy make it so complicated for us people. I wonder if I could ask another question also. CCCS has advised my sister on a pro rata payment agreement. They sent her all the necessary paperwork and forms that she has to send to all her creditors but the creditors are all saying that usually CCCS contact them directly. Is this the case. My sister is doing what the CCCS advised.

    Hello all

Ive been trying to finalise my own dmp for the past couple of weeks, and pending house repossession and my pc being repaired - but im now fully back

Cant sleep so got up and as no one else at home thought id check in and catch up with all

Staved off the house repossession with the arrears , by offering 50.00 a week for the next 6 months plus a fixed amount off the arrears. changed to interest only from repayment. However, im still sending my complaint to the fos as i was offered a fixed deal which included the arrears - all paperwork signed and then the mortgage company decieded to not give it us, this caused us extreme stress and of course the arrears escalated and they only gave us 125.00 compo.
Of course ive been told its the mortgage company perogative to decide not to lend to us, but i feel a contract had taken place and i want the fos to investigate still and look at it from our point of view too.
Will update you on this i just dont want others to experience what happened to us

Regarding my own dmp, have now got all of them on reduced amounts and interesting though, halifax have told me now that they have changed their policies and can only reduce interest charges to about 1% a month, well i have no other option but to accept.

The mbna team have supposed to have accepted my plan but havent had anything in writing from them as promised, but at least the silly letters and calls have stopped. I have actually told them they have been my worst nightmare, and i was not kidding, guess it wasnt really the advisors fault on the telephone and i was kind to them and at least it appears they have moved my plan forward. I will await on the statements to see their actions taken ie refund of interest and charges that have been applied.

Starting this own dmp from march 2008 and its taken me until now today to feel, ive got everyone under some kind of plan, its been exhausting, but a huge learning curve too.

Keep copies of your letters done and any correspondence recieved and file them away in a folder under each creditor, most useful tip i can give anyone. lol

I again want to thank everyone on here for your most inspiring help and especially those of you who do your own dmp, you are truely angels, you do know how you have helped me and thanks again. Many of you too many to list names, but of course we all have something to say once we have started this mad journey.

Any questions or queries i can help, please do not hesitate to ask me and i will be happy to give any help as others have helped me greatly.

Have a fun day and keep happy ciao for now MAZ
