ericsson K700i or motorla V3

WE have just got the k700i and having lots of problems sending pic mess. and getting ring tones. If it is a fault with the phone ( waiting for another call from O2) I was thinking of changing it to the V3. This is for my 14 year old son, I am a total phone dunce. Any advice on what will be the best, and has anyone else had problems with the k700i.

do you mean k700i or k750i (the k750i is the newer model). i suspect that the problem is not the handset if you mean the k750i (you could have got a bad one yes but generally they're not known for being fault ridden). i had problems with o2 initially when i first got a cam phone - it wouldn't send MMS at all. in the end despite downloading the settings for it from the o2 website (they will send out a text message to the phone containing the necessary settings - if you haven't already done that it might be worth trying) it didn't work until i called o2 and someone told me they had to enable it for my tariff which they did and now i have no problems.

so:

get settings sent from the o2 site (if you haven't)
call o2 if that doesn't work - check that it's enabled

not sure what you mean about the ringtones - more details?

if it is the k750i then i would suggest you don't swap it for the motorola - the k750i has a vastly superior camera, more memory (for storing pictures and ringtones and such) and i've heard more complaints about the V3 than the k750i - it has been around longer but still...

if the handset is faulty then swap it for another one of the same

the v3 looks great but is pants!. I had it after the 750i and then changed to w800i. The w800i is the best phone i have ever used.

i agree the v3 is pathetic....sent mine back after a week ( the battery life is dreadful ) and got a samsung 530 its pink and girly and fab........

V3 is pants compaired to the k750i and the k750i is THE SAME AS the w800i in essence, it can even be reflased to exactly the same as the w800i, forget the orange paint and the walkman badge, it aint worth the extra as they mostly aint free like the k750i. Save yer £50 and use it to buy a 1gb MSduo, it'll be better than the w800i for sure then.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I have checked and it is the K700i. It was half price at argos £75.00. I am still trying to get O2 to sort the MMS. Rang argos they said if it's faulty I can have my money back(phones now sold out)
I know the v3 is more expensive but wondered if it was worth the extra. It doesn't seem very popular going on the replies, which is a great help to me bacause I don't know anything about mobiles. Think I will just give the k700i and O2 a little more time.
