Where has all the fun of Hallowe'en gone? I remember as a child hunting around the house for the right sort of stuff to make whichever costume I was going to go out guising in and the satisfaction of knowing you'd done it all yourself was part of the funI don't want to sound like a killjoy but have we become so lazy that we can't be bothered to help our youngsters use their imagination? The cheapest way to kit them out for hallowe'en is to use what there is lying around the house eg
binbags, sheets, towels, scarves, old clothes, old stockings in fact decide what they are and then find the stuff to dress up--No Cost at all and a load more fun with the children . Oh and by the way--it's called GUISING NOT trick or treat that's another Americanism that has crept in in DISGUISE !!! Sorry about the pun....
  • There are costumes in Aldi next week (thurs 13.10.05) for £3.99, and they have quite a variety! The age range goes from 3-5 and 6-8. Loads of Halloween goodies too!! Might have to try some of them me self :D:D
  • Sorry folks, broke one of the golden rules and didn't look back over previous posts! Still a bargain is always worth another mention

kwik save and taylors (near tjhughes i liverpool) taylors especially and a few other shops around thatc area sell really cheap halloween stuff, got bone tights, and a light up halloween pumpkin holder, both 99p, most items, even outfits were 99p too.
Only for peeps in Liverpool this one Im afraid!
By the way, Taylors is a big warehouse that sells branded toys (dora, winnie the pooh...barbie etc) all very cheap...cheaper than I have ever seen them, food, household, electrics, all at very vry cheap prices! If anyone in LIVERPOOL who reads this post is not too sure on where this is pm me and I will let you know the exact where abouts...it is the rd after the top tjhughes store tho!

Is abit like makro without the food but loads cheaper and far better had toodlers outfits from £3.70 and Adults under a fiver. You can get membership details off the websit its free to Join but strictly trade so you have to do it through work or something
I work to support my shopping habit
  • I'm a student and in my first year, I entered a fancy dress competition on halloween, and came second. I was dressed as a mummy, all I used was three roles of no frills toilet roll, which set me back about £2 at most.

I went in Hobbycraft today and bought a Bat Mask for 79p. They have other masks ranging from 79p to 99p.

Asda still has loads left. Plus all the decorative accessories. It's in the kids department and the Xmas aisle.
When it comes to thought, some people stop at nothing.........
  • Get down to Gee Tee's if you have one nearby

They give you a free trick or treat bag and if you spend a fiver or more on Halloween they also give you a free ligh-up Halloween pen. Costumes are £3.99 and there's a big range to choose from
