if you have printed off your statement prior to closing account, as
suggested, then that shows gross/net/tax deducted
Yes, well I thought that was what I had done but all it shows is the pending transfer to the new account of the old balance without closing interest. The transfer does not go until the day after I gave the instructions which is perhaps where I went wrong since I see others have managed to get the transfer going through the same day. Maybe I needed to be looking at the statement on the day it closed (which I wasn't - or rather not until after the transfer had happened). Ho hum.0 -
Hi, DRS1
just had a look back into my account, I also have transfered issue 2 to issue
3 and closed issue 2, pending tomorrow, but issue 2 is still open, so if you
have a look back in you should get the details, though it does not show
interest still to be added.0 -
Thanks frugal; it was the closing interest I wanted to see and that is presumably not added until they close the account, by which time it is too late to look at it because they wipe the old closed account off the screen. Catch 22.0

If you request a transfer before midday it will go through that same day. After noon it is the next day.At least with internal accounts you are not waiting days for it to go to your bank and back out again. On the whole i like Bradford and Bingley, even if their rates are not the highest.0

Two days later and still no sign of issue 3 on the account. Will chase them next week.

how strange? did you already have a similar, lower rate account ? You can request a ring back from them, they are generally pretty quick, saves you the cost.0

If you know the amount of net interest you received on the money that was transferred from the old account to the new one, you can use this handy calculator to work out the gross interest and tax deducted on the amount. HTH0
