Hi All,
Wasn't sure where the best place to post this was as its relating to internet, tv and phone?
Anyway, ive got a bit of a problem with Virgin Media - Im currently buying a house, and am moving out of my rented house back to my parents to save some extra cash while the house purchase goes through. So i called Virgin this morning to enquire as to what my options were while i moved home - i.e. cancelling or suspending.
I was told that there is no way to temporarily suspend the account while the sale goes through. And my parents already have a virgin media account so theres not the possibility of transferring it to there. So the only option is to cancel - but although i signed up with Virgin Media last July, that because we are getting a £21 a month discount that our 12 months is up in November! I was never informed that by accepting a discount off the bill that it would mean a new 12 months from that point essentially.so if i want to cancel it would cost £120 minimum. and that if i didnt reconnect after 30 days i would lose the money forever.
Does anyone know if that is correct? surely if i wasnt aware i was being roped into 12 months from november that they cant hold me to it? I know its only £100...but its still £100!!! I need every penny i can get at the moment.
Any advice anyone??? I dont know if it will be cheaper to downgrade to just internet from next month till the contract expires, but i dont want to pay for someone else to use the net, i shouldnt have to! If it does cost me £100 to cancel it then i will not be getting them in the new house out of principle!

You cannot suspend the contract for a few months. Your only options are to cancel the contract or to carry on payment for a few months until you move into the new place.0
