Demon to BT total broadband

Thinking of chucking in my expensive Demon broadband- £24.99 for this BT unlimted total broadband. but im hearing many bad things about it.
can any one advise as im looking to save money on internet and phone bills but unsure which way to turn.
also nervous about changing from Demon as i use apple macs and Demon are very good at supporting this format
