hate these big companies, suppose to be global organisations, what a rip off0 -
O2 has not tricked anyone into this use. Contracted minutes are not usable abroad, so there isn't any reason to assume that data would be.
The website describes both ordinary and roaming data add-ons, and the latter is on pages about using data and about int'l use,
e.g.
No deceit there then
.
ok thanks for this but why havent 02 informed me of this going along the lines of whats best for their customers.0 -

It's on their website, as are their other services available, and they'd freely discuss any of them if you ring up and ask, but they aren't psychic and can't foresee your usage patterns in advance.0 -

Thanks for emailing us about the 'Unlimited Web' Bolt On.
I'm sorry if you feel that you need to contact Ofcom about your query that the 'Unlimited Web' Bolt On applies only within the UK.
It's clearly stated in the terms and conditions for the Bolt Ons that the Web Bolt On allows unlimited use of Telef!nica O2 UK Limited's Edge/GPRS/ 3G networks (as applicable to your mobile phone), for personal Internet use via your mobile phone. For more information about this, please click on the link given below:
http://www.o2.co.uk/termsconditions/tariffsandboltons0153
Please note that you can't use the allowances of your 'Unlimited Web' Bolt On while roaming in abroad. You can use the allowances of your 'Unlimited Web' Bolt On only within the UK.
I hope I have explained this clearly for you and have answered all the points you've raised.

good to get a response. but what about the £400 bill!?0
-
How much would the bill been on if you had bought the add-ons? Could you complain that the front page wasn't clear and if you'd known you'd have gone with the add-ons.
May even be worth agreeing to have it put on now (even if you don't use it) and remove it if/when they've reassessed the charge.
You're probably in an area where you need to be gently persistent - they're in their rights to charge you, but perhaps asking nicely, and escalating nicely with a reasonable argument just might get you some money off?
But buy reasonable I'd suggest you work out hte cheapest it would have been & propose paying that? What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0
