I'm not sure about the others, but I bought Humax, you get two options, freesat, which has 74 channels inc radio (it still does not regionalise yet, but it's due to soon), and a non-freesat which gets everthing up there, over 400 FTA channels, most are shopping rubbish and the regions of ITV and BBC, all the sky and other scrambled stuff you can list or ignore, it's up to you in the options, like I've said before in another post it's a damn shame you cannot just bung in your sky card and be done, but that's TV politics, and if they can sell you a box an installation you don't need they will, I'm still a bit upset that there are not more HD channels yet, from all the adverts it looked like BBC in general was going HD, not just 1 special channel with a bit of sport, and constant repeats of animal programmes and old concerts:mad:

Before investing in a £150 freesat dish, try and see if the dish is still working. Standard Sky digi boxes can be bought from car boot sales for around £5. Make sure you get the blue digital card with it as well or you wont get a lot of channels, incl C4.

What channels would I get if I did get a digi box but had no subscription to sky?

The freesat boxs I've seen in Currys are £50 not £150.

    Details for freesat from Sky:

The £150 includes installation, the £50 boxes in Currys do not include installation.

The BBC/ITV freesat is HD ready (well the £150 is the £50 is SD) and buying just the box means you can just plug it into the existing dish, if you buy the Sky freesat (SD) you will be paying for the installer to just plug it in for you if the dish is already up.
There has been a big !!!! up with the way HD digital TV has evolved, and because of this more HD channels will be slower to appear, with such a high percentage of installed sat boxes being SD, there is no pressure to up the HD output because of the cost to the public buying yet more equipment, I read that because France was slower to join the digiatal race, they will in fact be getting more HD stuff quicker than us because they will have more of the HD ready boxes.
