I know you can get free hosting and a web address for free (.com I think) from Office Live. I think you do have to use their templates for the site though, so if you have a specific layout you want to use, then it isn't the way to go. But it's free. If you google office live it's the second result. I had been looking, but never got round to actually using it.0

Surely if you are starting a bossiness, free is not the way to go! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Yeah do not go for free hosting, you can get some good solid hosting packages from around £30 a year.0

We use tobyhost for our services and have never found them expensive, their support is excellent and personal and you don't have to phone one of those 0845 numbers to talk to them.
We use one of their bespoke services but their D.I.Y services are how we started out. Contact them and ask.

Lets do a small comparison on their basic level package:
Toby Host:
Diskspace: 50mb
Bandwidth: 2gb a month
SQL Databases: 2
Mail Accounts: 10
Cost: £50 annually.
Surpass:
Diskspace: 200gb
Bandwidth: 2000gb a month
SQL Databases: Unlimited
Mail Accounts: Unlimited
Cost: $60 (£30)
Its a no brainer really. Their support is second to none & reply within the hour via their helpdesk system.0 -

Interesting comments from both sides. From past experience if you buy something in America and compare to the Uk $60 equates to £60 in the UK ie A $50 t shirt costs £50 in the UK so its the exchange rate that makes America look favorable. I have my websites with tobyhost and find the service excellent. Always on hand for even the smallest things and always included in the price. Therefore always available when I need them to be: in our UK time zone. I have two websites with them and have recommended their service to others who are also very pleased with the personal service given. Not everything comes down to cost. Service is important too.0

Hi,
There are so many things to consider before enrolling for hosting with any hosting provider. They keep so many things hidden and charge too much money late. Like as bandwidth access use, Disc space access use, SSL Certiuficates.
I experienced with one wel-known hosting provider for SSL Certificate. I purchased SSL Certificate at low price from RapidSSLOnline I was happy as I saved 100USD for SSL from SSL Store.
When I returned to my hosting to install SSL certificate they asked that they do not allow third party SSL Certificate. And I see that they charge too much for SSL certificate. Finally I need to move my hosting and website was down for 2 days and lost business.
Before buying hosting, I recommend you to confirm with hosting provider for SSL certificate as SSL Certifcates are compulsory for online business website.
Thanks,
Master Adam0
