Feeling very sad today. Nothing wrong with the feeling, and nothing to what the family concerned is feeling. I listen to my two boys bickering, and am glad that I still have two.....I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

I just read this poor woman's story. Truely awful and the comments below are heartbreaking. So if you know someone who is like these sufferers please get them to go to a GP.

No not for ever sadly but still made it back for Christmas and my mums 80th. It has been a right old game the end of the year.
First I passed my course! I was the oldest person on it. One of the kids (and I use the term advisedly) was young enough to be my grandson:eek:! It was a really good refresher and best of all free too. The next one isn't free though, but they thought I was good enough to miss out a level and go straight on to this one. Its another 13 week course, but is for medical administration.
We had some tough times during the last few months. Things were quite hard in the group for a while with one leader injured, and the other not psychologically really in the game, alot has landed on the other leaders. Not that they minded of course, but I am hoping that the summer break will have allowed people to rest and recuperate.
This trip home has been good and bad. My mum's house was:eek:. We had to be quite confronting with her about it as it was a fire risk as it stood. I really hope that that is sorted now. But the taking her to different relatives has been a great success , and I am really glad that we made the effort.
So now we are winding down to go back. We fly on the 22nd and land on the 24th, and I start my course on the 25th (with the boys going to holiday club), so we are all going to be absolutely wrecked! And we also have too much 'stuff,
And here is my question. When did Royal Mail get so expensive? I can't quite believe it but the carrier we are flying with is saying that an extra checked bag (with 23kg of weight) is about 35pounds. Yet to send a 2kg small parcel to new zealand is 22 pounds. How the heck does that work. And they don't seem to do a printed papers rate now. Am I being a complete twit about this, or has Royal Mail really got that bad?
Cheers

Well done on the course, and yay for getting started on the next one when you're back.
It's been getting increasingly expensive for a while, not to mention more complicated to work out what you should anticpate the costs of things what with small, and large letter rates, small parcels and normal etc. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Hope you have a safe journey back to NZ, done that trip twice and its a killer.
My DD and family are in Welly and the cost to send stuff by Royal Mail is terrible, don't send my DD half as much as I used to. If I am sending clothes I usually wait till I can send stuff with free international delivery, saves a fortune.
Hope you manage to sleep on the flight (I never can).0 -
safe travels pet!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

Well worked out that it was cheaper to take an extra bag back. 100 pounds for a bag max and that is under air new zealands rules. if it is air canadas, then it will be 35 pounds. Either way it is cheaper than posting it, and my mum came through with a spare suitcase so didn't have to spend on another one!I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Good evening
Well it has been a while and what a time has been had.
So we went back to the UK. Did a lot more and a lot less than we expected. Hate the fact that we didn't get to see some people who we missed last time. But very glad we did see some people, who might not be around the next time we go back.
We got back and I immediately (like the next day), started on a level 4 course in Medical Administration (like the first year of a degree course, about half the courses). But you do it in 12 weeks! It has been full on and the rest of the family hasn't liked it much. The boys especially seem surprised that they might have to pull their fingers our of their proverbial and actually help. They are 14 nearly 15 and 12.5 for heavens sake.
Still I am pleased to say that I have passed the course, and probably got at least a B so yeah to me. Now just got to find a job. Still talk about face palm:wall:. It was only when I was reviewing my covering letter for a job (ie after I had sent it off) that I realised I had left out a word . So annoyed with myself! I have to believe that what is for me won't pass me by.....
OH can't understand why I want to work in a hospital rather than a GP practice. It is quite infuriating. I am just not into doing reception work that is required in a GP practice. I am a back stage person, not front of house if you see what I mean. So the back office functions within a hospital suit me down to the ground. He seems a bit slow to grasp this however. Wants me to apply for things close to home. Gah I don't know it is bullsh*t really. It would be like asking him to go and work in a company where they used a different programming language, because it was cheaper. SIGH.
Anyway I have a shedload of stuff to do tomorrow, so I best go to bed. Thanks to those who have checked in.

Onwards and upwards chev....you know what you need to do and the hospital work angle seems logical to me.
So there Mr Chev
