    Great pic Numpty...

I used to keep hamsters at Uni....little chocolate brown ones...one of whom had a furry stump instead of a forepaw. (when I saw it waving at me from inside a glass aqaurium in a Harborne pet shop I just had to rescue it....and so began the hamster colony)....Hmmm...watch out piggies, I might trade you in

How's the electrical appliance saga going..any progress yet?

    Hugs

Good news about the hand Wol, not perfect A1 news (pesky scar tissue) but great that the tendons are connected still should make for a better recovery; and driving again in two weeks!!! that must be a relief.

    :j Hi everyone :j

Good news...the tendons are still joined together:j :j

and I will be allowed to drive again in two weeks time:dance:

    BUT....

The.occupational therapist is concerned that the tendons have all stuck rather badly to the scar tissue which is why I still cant move my fingers or hand....i.e. not made as much progress on the mobility/functionality front as would normally be predicted. So I have stern instructions to massage the scar vigorously.....lots and lots each day..and will be getting a course of ultrasound treatment starting in 2 weeks time. I also have to practice making a fist...which i cant do at all at the moment and was really quite shocked and upset when she made me try to discover how useless my hand is atm.. ..also I cant grasp or hold anything with the hand either....yet. (Bother...that means I still have to risk poking my eyes out each morning when I put my eyeliner on for a bit :o)

I can now take the hand out of the splint for periods during the day at home, but still need to sleep with it and wear it if I go out etc. No lifting/straining for 8 weeks so no hoovering/packing/ironing etc. But can start to use computer.

So it's good news...especially about the driving.....but I cant help feeling a bit despondent and frustrated at how long this is going to take to get at least some flexibility back. Maybe I should get a meat tenderiser to speed things up :rotfl:

No, it is very good news. Snapped things never join together on their own, but stuck things do come unstuck. As anyone who has ever used superglue will attest...

Glad to see you in good spirits.

You're not meant to win. If things don't go as predicted, it's your fault, and the prediction wasn't a completely lousy one - oh dear me no...

They're a bit like politicians in that way.
