Thread deleted. Why?

It is one of the things I dislike about this site, the mods (or whatever they are called) will delete things without letting you a)know that they have done it and b)the reason why they have done it.
A shame really as otherwise the site is quite well run!!!!
You really expect the mods to pm or email everyone every time a thread is moved, locked, deleted, moved to mods forum etc? Modding is a thankless task. Mosts mods on here give up their own time unpaid. Everyone seems to expect an explanation when in fact its a "private" forum and not paid for. I would rather the mods spend more time checking out the forums than sending silly messages. The man without a signature.0 -
In this case,I don't think it would have been unreasonable. Not that many threads cause problems on this board (As far as i can see).Particularly as he was warning about a rip off company (allegedly!)Not like it was just an arguament or suchlike.I guess it is a thankless task, but doesn't mean you can't be reasonable.0

Well they have time to re-write users signatures with a variety of warnings so a quick "thread deleted due to link in OP" is hardly any more bother than doing an insert for the sigs is it?
I have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.

Hmm, seems like my blog link was the culprit then. Fair enough, a lesson learned.
If anyone would like to see copies of all the correspondence between myself, CCL and Trading Standards (all via email), I'd be happy to provide it as proof that this isn't just trolling or sour grapes on my part.
Cheers,

The consolation would appear to be that every so often you get a board guide appearing with their sickly twee "Martin has asked me to point out..." message. :rolleyes:vikingaero wrote: »You really expect the mods to pm or email everyone every time a thread is moved, locked, deleted, moved to mods forum etc? It could be argued that if they explained why threads were moved or deleted then more people would know what was wrong with it and be less likely to do the same at a later date, saving the mods time long term. I don't get your point about it being a private forum, why should someone not want an explanation just because the forum is private, their isn't a logical connection between the two.Bought, not Brought0
