charging to unlock your phones
I would like to know why the mobile phone companies can lock your mobile phone after you've completed your contract surely the phone is your's especially after 18 months after all you've paid for it I don't see that it's fair that they can get away with it. Should trading standards be involved it this legal I wonder

it is legal is this country for the networks to lock the phones, although not all do now and some like Vodafone do it for freeEx forum ambassador

unfortunately it is legal, however we have a local pawn brokers that my orange shop sent me to who will unlock it on the day for about £10 (depending on the phone, i think Nokias are only £5
Markets are also a good place to look.
