Can you make my fence costing any cheaper?

Wanting to put up some fencing as cheap as possiable, we require 13 x 6ft panels and 15 x 8ft posts.

This is what i've found so far -

Duralap 6ft panel £11.74 x13 = £152.62
8ft 75mm posts £4.79 x15 = £71.85
Post caps £0.54 x 15 = £8.10
Delivery = £20

Drive-in post anchor 75mmx75mmx750mm £5.46 x15 = £81.90
Drive-in tool = £2.92
Fence Panel Clip 44mm pack of 16 = £4.11 x3 = £12.33
Sledge Hammer 7lb = £12.38
Post Spirit Level = £1.67
Free Delivery.

Total = £363.77

I've allocated a post anchor to each of the 2 posts that will be against the house - is this correct or should i screw the post in to the brickwork, and if so what screws should i use?

Also screws for fixing the clips to the post and panels - which ones do i need?

I would be very grateful of any assistance and also verfication that the duralap fence panel will be just as good as a lap fence panel?

Thanks

    Wow!
that's masses cheaper than anything I've been looking at.
Where are you getting it all from please?
Living on Earth can be expensive, but it does include an annual free trip around the Sun.

    Thanks

The Duralap panels are probably a bit stronger than the normal lap panels you would get from the likes of B&Q, not sure why they have stopped making them to be honest. I went and had a look at them a few weeks back but in the end chose to do closeboard using materials from fencing centre instead, Might be worth checking if they have them in stock, even back in may they said they only had a few pallets left of the 6ft panels(there were very few 5fts at that point which they obviously have sold now). Also a couple of the prices were sometimes a few pence difference if you went direct rather than online but probably not much difference.

If you are close to any of the In-Xcess shops near here then I picked up the driving tool for £1.95 and a 7lb sledgehammer for £11.95. they also had some of the metpost/anchors but I forget how much(I used 100mmx100m so got them from fencing centre). Might also be able to pick up fencing clips and spirit level at In-Xcess also

Thanks for the feedback, I had never heared of in-excess, but have found a store close by me, so will take a look in next time i'm passing.
I'm hoping to take a trip to the fencing centre this weekend to see what i can negotiate.
I've also noticed that Wickes are selling their metposts cheaper @ £4.48, B&Q are a pound dearer, so will get them to price match with 10%, so should get them for aprox £4.04 each - that's just saved me an additional £21.30!

not sure which fencing centre you are heading for but if you wanted to check the panels over they are located at the Parley main branch which is their trade outlet. Think it's reduced hours on a Saturday so check in advance. If you just want prices and ordering then any of their branches seem able to do that.

Nudge : Nudge... I was here first lol.
I've just given them a call and they have loads of the 6ft Duralap panels available.... Good Times.

I'll be going to the Cadnam branch - although it only does sheds, etc apparantly they've got an example of the Duralap there... saves on petrol for me.

I also emailed quite a few timber merchants over the weekend with my above quote - but the response so far is that none of them can get even near it.

I'd guess you'll have problems trying to knock in the post supports close to the house due to the foundations, maybe use the bolt down or cast in supports ?

If you do decide to bolt the posts then follow the method used here , remembering to use spacers to keep the posts off the wall.

You can get the through bolts from Toolstation.

Cheers for that, went in to B&Q this afternoon and saw the anchor bolts, and then when i came home saw the ones you mentioned from toolstation for less than half the price - nice one:T
That link to the method of bolting the post really helps too, cheers.

Many Thanks again for this, went to the West End store this afternoon, and worked out it's less than 2 miles from us, and we didn't know it was there.....
Anyhows... saw the metposts, but didn't look sturdy enough and are only £1 cheaper than the ones we've priced up. Did however get a slege hammer for £9.95, and a post spirit level for £1, and 1kg of galvanised nails for £2.50!
They do have 8ft posts for £4.50, but they don't deliver so we'll get them from the fencing centre.
We picked up quite a few bits from there... was tempted at the carp rod for £11.99, but one thing at a time lol
I did notice they had a lot of B&Q & Screwfix products there, so guessing they have the contract to sell their discontinued and surplus stock.
Think it will be a weekly visit from now on, along with a pop in to Netto nextdoor. :D
