My H/I is the basic and costs me £20 a mth and thats only contents. Yours seems far to cheap check what it actually covers.
The general rule for court ranges from disco diva, catwalk queen, day at the beach to more formal attire. I thought it seemed cheap but got it online through Confused.com and its with Endsleigh insurance. Covers all i need, enough contents etc, i dont have any away from home insurance but dont need it and no big expensive Dali's or picasso's in the loo...Maybe you have some better tastes than me?
So i guess i'll be going to court in some bermuda shorts, t-shirt and flip flops...cool...Smart and casual! :T
i'll probably wear my suit just incase!

Hairy i would consider upping your telephone to £40 as well and your dry cleaning as it must cost you more than £10 a mth to have those suits cleaned.DFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

Afternoon Dave & Dalip,
Agree with Dalip on phone & dry cleaning. Cost of suit cleaning can be around £10 a time so £20-£30 would be reasonable I think per month...especially in your line of work.
Try to get a break from this today...bet you are counting the hours down ( its 22ish btw ) ...but you need to clear your mind so you those nerves don`t get too bad.
I`m just doing my I&E ahead of Cab meeting tomorrow (NED CAB site is brill!!) & realising that its so expensive just to live these days!! Odd but when you have lived on credit as I have then the real cost just does`nt register! 6 months ago it never occurred to me how much dry cleaning cost..it just went on the card!!
Anyhow I wittering on again.

Hi Dave, I will be getting a date soon from the Court so am following your thread with interest. Just wanted to say that it costs OH £8.50 per suit (which is the cheapest around we could find) and he has three suits which need to be dry cleaned once a month. If that helps.
Anyway, good luck tomorrow, we will all be thinking of you. xxx"Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, except backwards and in high heels"

Thanks for the time scale Angel....OMG only 22hrs to go...lol..so much to do and so little time!!..
i'm not to bad today, gonna cook myself a dinner and watch the tennis final, just to take my mind off everything as you say.
im glad you have got your appointment sorted with the NED CAB..good luck with that tm. when i first did my expenses for the CAB meeting i too was in denial i guess how much everything cost, even simple things like how much i spent on food per month...
summer1969 - Thanks for the suit info, i may try and claim a bit higher just to give it a go, i can always hand a receipt in for it if the OR questions the amounts. Wish you well with arranging your court date and i hope my experiences can help others to.

Definitely up your suits, telephone and get a PAYG for personal use. The OR is unlikely to ask for receipts for everything. IMHO I think they have a ball park figure and either approve or disapprove. So go for it I was allowed £64 for all telephone and seeing as we will be dealing with the same OR's office I assume that they will be more lenient than you are allowing.
Will send you a PM will all the figures I used and was allowed.BSC Member 59 - AD 29th March 2008
