I posted out an item to a buyer, 1st class recorded, the day after she paid, and entered the tracking into paypal as well as sending her a message stating her item had been posted and she should hope to receive it soon...........well she didn't receive it and a week after I posted it she started a paypal dispute after messaging me every day demanding her money back and threatening me with a neg, with me apologising for royal mail  and asking her to wait until 14 working days had passed, finally her item turned up after 2 weeks exactly and she left me a neg "arrived after 3 weeks by 1st class post" the date on the label should show her when it was posted and its not really my fault it took 2 weeks to arrive, not 3 like she stated in her feedback might I add.
Will eBay remove this or am I snookered? (clutching at desperate straws here).

you can reply to it which will show up next to the neg. Along the lines of -
Posted next day, explained Post office rules re 15 days, buyer too impatient.
Highly unlikely that ebay will remove neg but if she is complained about a lot they may remove her. Worth a try to report her for an unreasonable neg.
Hope this helps

is there a link for reporting unfair feedback? Prob won't help but worth a try, thanks for replying. I have another 100 or so items to list but this woman has been so much work I really can't be bothered any more, what really gets my goat is the way she's worded the feedback it sounds like I've waited 3 weeks then posted her item 1st class, not that I posted it right away and it took 2 weeks to arrive, I still don't know where she gets this 3 weeks from.........0

Report them for feedback extortion? might work0 -

Unfortunately it is unlikely to suceed. Feedback extortion is where the buyer demands something over and above that which was listed in the ebay advert. In this case they were only demanding that they get the item or their money back.
I do feel for the OP. Some buyers will blame sellers, unfairly, for delays by Royal Mail and leave negative feedback. They will probably have marked 1 star out of 5 for dispatch time too even though the item was disptatched very promptly. The more people sell the more likely they are to suffer delays or losses by RM and the higher the risk of receiving a negative. Whats the alternative? Send everything by Spevial Delivery? Not many buyers would pay the premium.
In a perfect world buyers would recognise the way in which a seller responds to a delayed/lost item claim by the buyer rather than blaming them for something out of their control. Whatever people thought about the previous feedback system this would not have happened then.:rolleyes:0 -
I just hate the fact that under the new system a buyer can leave a neg for something that was outwith my control, am I supposed to make the post quicker or something!?!? This is not a newbie buyer either, its someone who buys and sells, you'd think they'd have been a bit more sympathetic. My ratings are still good but I don't think I'll list my other items for a while, this buyer took up so much time and energy with constant messages and phonecalls, plus phonecalls to Royal Mail; not really worth it for £15!0

even you report this feedback to ebay, i don't think ebay will remove this neg for you. I always refund 30%-50% of postage to nervous customers if their parcels are delayed to avoid bad feedback. 99% of customers are understanding and reasonable. But you do need to be careful few impatient customers.0

Add her to your favourites and watch her listings. If she lists something cheap or something you actually want, buy it and give her twice the hard time she gave you plus a big fat negative.
Petty? Yes
Childish? Yes
Satisfying? Yes
And add her to your blocked bidder list.0 -
My views might not be pupular here, but I would never ever risk telling a buyer that she had to wait 14 working days (nearly three weeks) before I would do anything. It is tantamount to telling them that you would wait until the time that the RM considered an item lost in order to protect your own claim for loss (which is 15 working days incidentally).
A buyer is not concerned with the Royal Mail process and why should they be? Their item has failed to arrive and all they want to know is what is the seller going to do about it? I would always try to gently suggest that a buyer waits a few more days but reassure them that if item doesn't arrive them that they will be refunded. If buyer sounds unhappy waiting that long then I would push through the refund quicker, although I owuld normally hope to get them into week 2 or even 3 if I was lucky. However I never mention RM regulations and claims and it might be the fact that you appeared to be delaying the claim that earned you the neg.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. You could try complaining to Ebay if the feedback is inacurate and if you have something from her threatening you with a neg, but I wouldn't hold out too much hope.0

I guess that if the seller refunded and then the item arrives two weeks later then the fight would be to get the money back again off the buyer. And she seems fairly unreasonable - did it not have the status on the RM website? As it was recorded RM have proof it arrived so won't pay up. Seller loses.0
