As a general rule, laptops are not as upgradeable as desktop PCs.
Probably the only upgrades that you could justify are memory - 512Mb should be fine for most Linux distros, 512Mb or 1Gb for XP, possibly more for Vista - and a bigger/faster hard disk if you need the space.0 -
At least another 512MB of RAM is required. Purchase here.
In addition to the above suggestions, it may be possible to upgrade the Combo Drive to a DVD Writer. But is it worth it?
I think, just add RAM and get rid of Norton, if you have it running.
If you are comfortable changing the HDD for a larger capacity, that's worthwhile too.
Changed my old 14GB HDD for an 80 GB one. Around 26 quid.
'Ghosted' the contents of the 14GB HDD onto the new one, so no loss of info.0
