Advice needed please, my contract ends next month!!!!
Hi everyone
Hope I can get some advice re this please. I currently have a LG Chocolate phone on contract with O2 which I purchased through E2 save and Carphone Warehouse. It was supposed to be a freebie as the intention was that I would claim cashback through retention however because I"m completely forgetful and useless unfortunately I haven't claimed any cashback at all during the year I've had the phone so its turned out to be an expensive buy for me!!!! ( Won't go for another cashback offer this time round!!!! lesson learned!!!) The thing is the contract ends next month and I don't really want to continue with it as its far too expensive for me with bills coming in at nearly 40 pounds a month even though I only use it in emergencies for instance if I'm working late and for phoning my OH at lunchtimes and my daughters nursery etc to check that everything is ok, so I don't really need an expensive contract. However, I do still need a phone as there are times when I do need to use it and I wondered if any of you lovely people out there could suggest a cheap but good tariff to be on as I'm getting totally confused with all the various offers etc which are out there at the moment. Virgin mobile have offered me 600 minutes and 600 texts on my old phone for 20 per month but 3 and T mobile as well as Carphone Warehouse also have some good offers on at the moment and I"m getting completely confused!!!!!.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks a lot.

You may get a decent retention offer when you phone to (try) cancelling.
Get them to put it in writing before accepting it!
(With your history, maybe getting a non-cashback deal would be better)0 -
Why not go PAYG?0

A Virgin PAYG sim would probably be best for your limited usage. You may need to get your LG unlocked.0

Thanks for all the replies everybody, I really appreciate it. I spoke to Carphone Warehouse yesterday and managed to renegotiate my existing contract down to a much more reasonable 15 per month and get a new phone into the bargain!!!! Am really pleased about this as I can now put the money I"m going to be saving by not having an expensive contract into paying off Barclaycard!!!!!loobylou2.Proud to be dealing with my debts and aiming to sort out the mess in 2013!!!!:eek:0
