Where to donate used pushchair

Does anyone know where I can donate a used Mamas & Papas pushchair/travel system?
Most charity shops don't appear to want them for 'safety' reasons, but I don't think it's in a reasonable enough state to sell, it's been through the mill with 2 little darlings.
Thanks
David

You could get in touch with your local womens refuge, as often the ladies and children finding themselves there havent had chance to take their baby stuff. That's where we gave our 3-in one to, although it wasn't in bad condition, and I kept the carseat as I didn't feel comfortable that someone may use that (as they say not to buy those second-hand because of safety reasons).

Hi!
You could join your local freecycle group (http://www.freecycle.org/display.php?region=United%20Kingdom) and place an advert there - I'm sure someone will be grateful for it.

Some local councils run a scheme where you can donate used furniture. I am sure that they would also accept a pushchair though. My local council even collects the items. They then display them in a big warehouse and low income families can buy them for next to nothing.
Contact your local council to see if they run such a scheme.0 -
Try contacting your local SureStart or HomeStart scheme - they ALWAYS know low income families in the area who need help with baby clothes/equiptment etc...

Try contacting your local NCT branch. Often they have a separate scheme for assisting young mums, and my branch are always constantly asking for baby equipment to be donated.

If you end up finding no one to take the pushchair off your hands, try putting it on ebay, they often go for about £50 in reasonable condition and if you don't fancy the hassle doing it, you can find the details on ebay of names of people in your local area who will sell the items for you for a fee.0

I think you will find most organisations will not accept responsibility for passing on used baby equipment for fear of being sued.
If your local paper accepts free ads (that's free to advertise not just for free goods) put in free to collector.
Either that or offer to a neighbour who maybe a grandparent who would like a pushchair for occassional use.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

I seem to recall somewhere that its illegal to sell 2nd hand pushchairs without the safety instructions / manual! =:0

I'm not saying you did - honest
Just pointing out that most (notice emphasis on most) organisations are too afraid of being sued if something goes wrong to re-issue (or I prefer to call it re-cycle) baby equipment.
Even the local M&T group I used to attend no longer accepts used toys as they had a complaint off one parent when their child pulled a knob off a kitchen set and nearly put it in their mouth.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)
