Hi all, my husband was dis-charged in 2006. Paid for court letter to say he is dis-charged. We managed to get a JOINT mortgage last year and got another mortgage this year too. BUT.... we still cant get a joint bank account, now how silly is that. Anyone know of a bank that'll help?

About as silly as Barclays offering a Bankrupt a CC but not a debit card with there account, but hey thats banks for you:rolleyes:
Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all …………. :(

My bancrupcy should be dropping off my credit files in october. As far as savings accounts go I have a Yorkshire Building Society internet saver, I had an ISA with them. I have Halifax websaver and there new 10% regular saver. Also I have A & L ISA and Esaver. I think they only check credit files for your identity. I have a coop cashminder account which I opened after i went bankcrupt. So far almost 6 years later having ran the account in good order for all the time they have not allowed me to upgrade the account nor open a savings account with them as they credit check for savings. I believe First Direct credit check for savings too.

I have tried the high APR credit cards and was refused.
    Hope this helps!

I still can't see the reason why banks credit check for savings.....you're wanting to put money away not take it out!

I have had this problem in the past (not through BR but debts) and had an arguement with one bank over it.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
