Should SORN it straight away at PO.
You might be fined £80, but they are sometimes lenient if you phone them up and explain the circumstances. Phone them today on

I Would Like To Get My 1967 Bantam Motor Cycle Back On The Road,
The Last Time It Was Taxed And On The Road Was 1991, Of Course
The Bike Will Need Mot And Insurance But What I Am Worried About Is Sorn.
It Has Never Been Sorn, I Am Not Sure If I Ever Had Notification That Sorn Was Needed, What Will Happen If I Try To Tax This Vehicle ?.
Thanks Ironframe.0 -

The continuous registration rules which mean that all vehicles must be either VED (tax) renewed or SORN continuously or else face an automatic DVLA penalty unless they were renewed or SORNd within 14 days of expiry (which does not mean you can drive the untaxed vehicle on the road in those 14 days)
Do not apply to vehicles which were unlicenced (off road) prior to 31st Jan 1998, and which have remained unlicensed ever since.
So just take it for it's MOT, then tax it at the post office, no fine should come, if it does, challenge it.0 -

There is one more issue, your bike is pre 1973 therefore it is exempt or will be if you apply for historic vehicle status. see this pdf file or phone dvla Phone numbers are a few posts up in this thread, and ask for leaflet INF34

You still need to apply for a free tax disc and subsequently "continuous registration" will apply to your vehicle.0 -
