Cassey - congratulations, you get the benefit of a new job without the hassels of starting work somewhere else and having to learn the ins and outs. When do you start on you enhanced salary?
Andan - I'm thinking maybe you can have the OH for a bit. He did good during the day yesterday with the cleaning and cooking, but then proceeded to reward himself with most of a bottle of rum and passed out on the spare bed upstairs but left the mobile with the alarm in our room!! Do you still want him? He is getting better at the money saving thing, usually laughs at me when I find things off this site and makes fun of me to our friends but then does take it on board with the cooking, and changing mobile contracts and shopping etc. So I think I'll keep him for a bit yet!
Today I'm going to try to be super productive and
- do surveys (done, none to do)
- not spend anything during the day - store cupboard lunch etc
- chop and freeze any veg that I can so that it doesn't go bad
- sort out sky (live in a shared house so it's between 5 people and we NEED it!)
- cancel my australian medical insurance and get refund for overpayments
- organise financial paperwork and try to organise last years tax
- show 2 people the room upstairs that we need to rent and hopefully one of them wants to move in
- read the food waste challenge thread from the beginning
- enter competitions
- make my way down to friends house later becuase we are doing the london to brighton cycle tomorrow - we are going to take them out for a carb loading dinner tonight becuase she is driving his work van down to brighton to pick us up (and work is even paying for fuel) - so that should be the only spend for the day!
Other than that, enjoy the fact that it is a weekend, hope everyone else is doing the same!
Aussie

Today was eldest son's school summer fete.... I would normally just take £30 quid out of the bank and spend whatever on what the kids wanted.... but today I took £14 with me, spent £1 on entrance, gave the eldest two £3.00 each, bought littlest one a balloon (£1), and me and OH enjoyed a cider in the sun (£4), then came home

Was lovely, and nice not to come home with more stuff to clutter the house with (though kids seem to have spent their money on sweets and an inflatable football lol!)

- Went to pet shop that does carefresh bedding on offer - £6.50 for 2 packs and loyalty stamp on card
- Walked to a summer fete and back via pet shop and park
- Low spend at fete - £4 (£1 entrance, £1.50 pony ride, £1.50 bouncy castle) and DS used pocket money to have face painted and bought a cheap personal radio
