Saturday 14/06/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Anyway today i have/will
No plans to go anywhere just pottering about house and garden and chilling. Hope you all have a good day:D

:hello: morning all
off to races today... so not very DFW! but I will do my best...- will have lunch on the train down because we can't take food/drink in
- I will only bet on every other race and let OH bet on every other race and I will not bet more than a fiver (think that will be the minimum, it was at ascot last year)
- I will stick to my budget by only taking cash!
someone give me a kick tomorrow when I am doing nothing and should be selling! 0 -

Well its been an early start for me today, been up since seven, but unable to get on the computer as my boyf needs his beauty sleep, he's only just got up!
Sophiesmum, have a nice day pottering around, hope the noisy men stop soon, i always thought they weren't allowed to start work before 8am, that would have annoyed the hell out of me!
Claireabelle, have a great day at the races, hope you win.
Was hoping for a productive day as ever! However only realised this morning that i am meant to be helping out at my former work's school fete, so that will take up most of my afternoon, however it will be a nice time to catch up with everyone.
My dfw things:
-Have completed one job application form
-Been working on another and will have that completed by tonight
-Have been through loads more bags of paperwork and filed them away
-Will finish sorting through bags of paper work and junk and file things away
-I MUST MUST MUST, REVISE FOR O.U EXAM!!
-Have looked for mystery shops and will continue doing so through out the day
-Have sorted out stuff for postal survey
-Will list more stamps for sale on ebay
-Have got washing outside drying on the lines
-Meals will be from storecupboard
-Will look for more jobs
-Do some surveys
-Work through emails
-Place some more matched bets
-Work on second lot of leaflets
-Go on website for business advice
-Start working on creating my website, have a book to help me!
-Do boring household jobs
-Help out at school fete and see if i can pick up any bargains
-Look at designing gift vouchers for business
-Do my daily clicks
-Read some of counselling books
-Work on what i need for new business
-Check online banking and look at finances
Think thats it for me today, probably wont get them all done but at least this way i can see what needs doing and will prob have the same list for tomorrow. As long as as i get my revision done thats the main thing.
Have a great day everyone and make the most of your weekend whatever you decide to do.:D:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j

At work, charging mobile phone with the in-car charger on way to work and on way home. Got my own sarnies for lunch so avoiding the work cafe.
Will need to get some more bread on way home for work sarnies, will try and not spend too much in Asda.I hate migraines.0 -
Over the last couple of days.....
Researched budget meals.
Changed my internet and saved £7 a month.
Put my bills onto monthly direct debit payments.
Went to ALDI and got ten loaves to store in the freezer - they are 37p there compared to the usual 99p or more we spend per loaf.
Bought some dried milk from LIDL. It makes up four litres for £1.49.
Dried washing on the line.
Sewed some green been seed.
Entered competitions.
Bought stuff for baking, instead of using pre made stuff like choc coated bars for pack ups etc.
Bought some tubs (59p for five) to make potato salads/pasta salads for lunches for the kids and hubby - saves hubby getting a 'takeaway' lunch, and means I don't have to fork out for a hot school dinner if kids fancy something other than sandwiches.
Bought some more wash powder. For anyone interested, LIDL have BIG boxes of Ariel washpowder for £7.99 - they are usually £9.99
Actually went shopping for kids clothes instead of buying online at Next. I got the three youngest kids, an outfit each. A summer coat each. Two of them a pair of shoes each. One of them a set of socks. My daughter a pair of jeans extra.......all for £60. Normally, I'd spend that on one outfit and a pair of shoes! I'm quite proud of myself for that one.
I prefer to do it via the charity shop way, but they had nothing. They never seem to have decent kids stuff these days.
Oh, and I'm still not smoking! Cool huh
I've saved about £20 there for starters! Proud to be dealing with my debts :T
Don't throw away food challenge started 30/10/11 £4.45 wasted.

Hawthorn, it sounds like you've had a great few days well done and you've achieved loads. You have some really good tips there so i may have to borrow some of them!
I never normally shop in Aldi, mainly because i just get my shopping delivered by Tesco once a month and buy only a few bits inbetween, but may start having to go there.:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j

Aldi has some good deals, for sure. Lidl is usually better though. Certainly for fruit and veg. The only thing I buy from Aldi is the bread
I don't reckon I could make as much bread as that for that price, and it's ok. Proud to be dealing with my debts :T

I just couponed £17.50 off a £30 shop at Mr T. :j :j :j
Make a list of important things to do today. At the top, put 'eat chocolate'. Now, you'll get at least one thing done today.
