I have saved almost £800 in tesco vouchers (that's after x4 times), the first batch of vouchers expires in July. We're desperately saving for a holiday - Orlando would be our dream - the holiday would be taken next year.

Can anybody offer me their opinion? Is it worth paying off the total vouchers (£800) I have earnt for a Orlando holiday with tescos or would a high street travel agent offer a better deal?
    :beer:MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS:beer:
  • Hello Everyone,

Not sure if this is the right place!!

Were looking to book a few nights in london for may with our clubcard vouchers. We'll have about £100 to go towards it by then. Is it cheaper to book direct with the hotel or use the vouchers? have heard that they charge you more if your using vouchers.

    Thanks.

yes they charge more, but it depends on how 'cash rich' you are. £100 in cash is the same as using £25 of vouchers, so you have to decide if the room actually costs £100 for cash, but if using vouchers the room costs £120, then you would need to convert £30 of vouchers.

Its up to you to decide whether paying £30 in vouchers for your room is such a bad deal, compared to spending £100 in cash

Personally, £30 of vouchers for a hotel room, seems a much better deal than using £100 cash

unless you have enough vouchers to cover the whole cost of the holiday, then it is most likely that you will get a better deal by not using deal tokens

best thing to do is get some quotes of a travel agent. then compare it to the full brochure price through tescos. then work out the difference between the two. if your vouchers more than cover this difference, then using the deals tokens would be the best option. if not, then dont bother using them, and just pay cash for the holiday

  • Hiya!
    Just a quick question...
I ordered vouchers for Planet Hollywood and since receiving them, they have stopped accepting them there as they are relocating- fair enough! Can I use the vouchers in any of the restaurants specified on the Deals website?
Also, when you use them in the restaurant do you tell them before you order that you have the vouchers or wait until after, or when they give you the bill?! I worry about these things!!!
    Thanks :o

Contact the clubcard helpline. So long as your vouchers have not expired, the points can be credited back to your account.

And you'll have a full 2 year expiry date on them again:j

You can use them in any of the restaurants listed on the deals website. I have never mentioned that I have deals vouchers before ordering, just get the bill and leave the right amount of vouchers, and cash for drinks and service.

I was always under the impression they advertised the deals as 4x the cash value. Is it upto 4x or is it 4X

I ask as drayton manor now has only one option - £7 worth of vouchers for a day ticket - child ticket £21, adult £25.

I dont see how this is 4x??

    Can anyone advise please

    Thanks
  • They are either 4 x value or buy in full.

  • Like many others, we have been savings our points diligently over the past year and a half and taken advantage of the many 1000 point offers, usually using them twice in both accounts. We had been eying up a holiday with Virgin to Sri Lanka and Maldives from the start and we have just ordered for the deals which give us £1700 off our holiday!

This will be the last time I do this, as I have found that I can't get 10% off for using my Virgin Creditcard, can't get 5% off for booking online, plus can't get 10% as Virgin have a sale at the moment.

So just for the sake of using my Clubcard deals I'm losing out to 25% discount I would have received if I wasn't using the deals. In the end the holiday is quite expensive (£5300), so using the deals still works out cheaper, but certainly feel conned a little.

Also, it's been a week since ordering the deals and not even dispatched yet. When I rang Tesco they said that due to the high value they have additional security checks. Anyone has experienced this? They' better honour the deals!!
