Now just noticed I am supposed to have a GB sticker, adjusted headlights, a fire extinguisher, a first aid kit and a spare bulb kit and a warning triangle.
You can buy most of this stuff at the port. Ferries sell it for a bit more than it costs away from the ports.
GB Sticker - magnetic stickers are a few pounds.
Headlights- buy stick on diffusers, few pounds.
Spare bulb kit - few pounds at Halfrauds.
First aid and warning triangle - same.

I sorted all of this stuff out so if I was pulled over for anything I would be able to tick all the boxes. The chances of being pulled over are pretty slim. The French have a legal limit close to 80mph, and seem to travel at around 85-90 most of the time without any hassle.
    Happy chappy

Check if you can adjust the lights on your car to comply. I can on mine, takes about ten minutes and avoids using the horrible sticky things. I thought you were supposed to have a Hi-Viz vest/jacket as well nowadays?
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

You only need the warning triangle if your car has no hazards.

No, the triangle is compulsory in many countries on the mainland, including France.

It's also compulsory to have a hi-visibility vest for every vehicle occupant.

Now, I'm not one to post incorrect information but either you or the AA is wrong.

The use of hazard warning lights or a warning triangle is compulsory in an accident/breakdown situation.

A warning triangle is recommended for breakdowns on bends, but it is not compulsory equipment if the vehicle is fitted with Hazard lights
