Hi there We have booked on the eurotunnel tomorrow morning. Only booked it a week ago bit of a spur of the moment thing. Now just noticed I am supposed to have a GB sticker, adjusted headlights, a fire extinguisher, a first aid kit and a spare bulb kit and a warning triangle.
Do i have to have all of this. I am particularly worried about adjusting headlights as have no idea to do this (husband not particularly great with cars either) we are staying overnight but won't be driving at night
Am in a bit of a panic now cause we are due to be going through the tunnel around 9am. What do I HAVE to do and how can I do it before tomorrow morning.
HELP

You can buy a kit will all the stuff in from Halfords but I think you've left that a bit late in the day now. I'm sure the headlights are corrected with just adding a triangle black sticker in the correct position.0

All you actually need is the headlight adjustors and GB Sticker. If you have GB plates you don't need a sticker, and unless you plan on driving at night (or get caught by weather) I'd not worry about the headlights it's 9pm over there now and no need for headlights.
You only need the warning triangle if your car has no hazards.0 -
looks like there is a AA shop at the tunnel that sells a kit anyway. As we plan on lots of french driving in the future may bite the bullet and invest in one!!!
thanks panic over0 -
Trouble is the headlight adjustors are one use only, which is £8 every time, I just have them in the boot in case caught out.
I doubt the AA shop will be open when you travel, your check in will be 8.30, we got the 9am train a few weeks back and it wasn't open then0 -
i will keep the headlight adjustors in the boot as well. website says open from 6am-10pm so fingers crossed it will be open.0

Don't bother with the ridiculously expensive headlamp thingys, just have a rough look at what they would cover and use a bit of black insulating tape. Just common sense, and a wee bit of experimentation, so you don't actually dazzle anyone. Not sure about the triangle, I understood that it was compulsory, along with a spare bulb kit. Makes sense anyway.0

The gendarmes are hot on speeding and any other non-compliance of Froggy law especially when Brits are concerned as they consider us to be cash-cows. As shown73 has said you should cut out some black insulating tape to the same shape as the beam deflectors that you have bought (take the beam deflectors just in case). Reason being:
(1) The beam thingies are expensive
(2) Having a neat similar shape will show that you are complying with French Law and they will be less likely to look for other misdemeanours
(3) The stoopid beam thingies use an adhesive which is often hard to remove and marks plastic lenses.
Don't bother buying from the AA shop - the prices aren't :money:The man without a signature.0
