My in-laws also use Direct Telecom with Carrier Pre-Select for convenience.

They used Teleconnect prior to signing up with Direct Telecom:

I've seen but not used - it looks a bit like prepaid calling card -

I can't read Spanish though, and these might be the tariffs on top of a local rate call

(part of Budget Telecom that operates in several countries)

When I asked the same question last year, Dialaround was recommended and used continually. Suggest you do a "search" on htis thread for spain/dialaround

depending what the other one says about tariffs, I think this one is probably cheaper

2ax, Even though the site you've suggested appears cheaper (to you), I personally feel that as it has TWO charge rates 4 cents & 6.7 cents depending on the time of day used plus the connection charge of 8 cents, just might prove to be something one might steer clear of.

To be able to dial a prefix number,no matter what time of day or night in the knowledge that the rate is the same, (5 cents) and that there is no connection charge, is in my opinion more attractive.

Whilst I do NOT use any of these services myself, I would add that after my original search last year, I passed on the info to ma-in-law. She experienced a connection problem and told me. I emailed the company (dialaround) and the MD phoned her himself and sorted out the problem (which was of HER doing) and consequently she now uses that company with no worries/problems whatsoever. One can ask for no more than that, wouldn't you agree?.

    INCORRECT INFORMATION PLEASE NOTE

Sorry, but I have given misleading information in an earlier thread.

It seems the company my ma-in-law uses when she calls a UK landline from a landline in Spain is www.dialabroad.co.uk and the cost is 4.03 cents (from 8.00pm to 8.00am) and 6.73 cents (8.00am to 8.00pm) mon-fri.

Please accept my apologies for jumping on the bandwagon without checking my facts first. I trust no-one has been too inconvenienced. islandman

I would recommend you look at Direct Telecom which offers either CPS or a 4 digit prefix and is 5 cents/min 24x7 with no connection fee or IVA charged.

Both Dialabroad and Teleconnect quote prices excluding the 16% IVA on both the rate and the connection fee.

    Thanks

Apologies, I was only comparing for price to the other I found, not the rest, but wasn't clear about that.

Looks like Gavin is the champion - well he had an advantage

You'd think there was scope for a Finarea company or two - maybe someone with good Spanish could Google ... telephone more cheaply

I just found about 10 others via 902 numbers

Losminutos also has a 5c/min service via a 900 number, but with a connect fee
