hmm, thats what I thought!, just would have been nice for stay at home mums to have saved a few pennys! (and everyone else of course but when you're selling something for £2 and out of that you have to take fees and post it's not really worth it anymore!)0

Hey guys I just had this email from paypal;
Sounds good but I doubt many people will want to pay the other persons paypal fees.
What do you think?
Sounds good?
Paypal have been trying to force their customers to pay the way 'they' want and if you have noticed, when you pay for something they automatically select your account and not what YOU wish to pay with by default - i.e. C. Card in my case.
Also this is the same when you have a 'recurrent' payment.
If you forget to log-in your Paypal account and set the payment the way YOU like, it will automatically get your money out of your account.
I have 'many reasons for not paying from my Bank Account and this should be 'our' choice.
But they have actually forcing us and this changing has been made simply because most probably the vast majority that think like me!
Freedom of choice!
By doing this they want to force you once more by attracting a charge if you do not pay from you Bank Account!
This is not on.
Is there any 'trustable' similar way of payment, instead of Paypal?

Sorry it was a bit early when I put this up and I didn't explain myself very well. I meant it sounded good but when you go more indepth that is where the catches are. My reason for putting this up was to find out like Appleblossoms already mentioned what their opinions are, as I have put this on another forum I am on and a few have mentioned that they would try to get people to pay outside of the ebay invoice system and send it as a private payment,so that they wouldnt have to pay fees. a few of them don't seem to be pertubed by the loss of protection, and I do think this could catch some of the newbies out and make them susceptible to scams. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I agree that a scammer if prepared to do a lot of leg work might use this as a way to scam, but it relies on the buyer being very naive. However, think it through this would not be an easy thing to do:
Just for basics, I buy an item from you and click the 'pay now' button and that means it links to my ebay purchase. How is anyone going to intercept each and every paypal payment and refuse it and ask the buyer to repay to a different account, it's just going to look like a scam even to the grrenest of buyers.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. It just means that if using paypal outside of ebay there ar enow ways of receiving certain payments without paying a charge.
For anyone selling on ebay and any other webiste where goods are involved it makes no difference.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Really annoyed about this...
I have a personal paypal account because I only sell the odd item here and there on ebay... because I have a personal account, I don't have to pay paypal fees, but with these changes, I WILL have to start paying these fees, unless the money comes from someone's account (rather than credit / debit card which must be very few....)
Its all part of the bigger plan for world domination.... first they make paypal compulsory on ebay and then they start making everyone, business and individual for our large fees.... GUTTED!!0 -
It is unrealistic though to use a personal account on ebay if you sell as currently you can only accept 2 card payments before you trigger the need to upgrade, the chances of all your buyers paying from an existing balance are very slim.. Obviously a personal account is fine if you do actually only have two things to sell, but for anyone else a premier is a must.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
