My sisters boss flys into the Uk frequently and likes the Ibis in Euston best, if he is not entertaining and putting clients up at the Hilton. He is quite particular, so I would imagine it must be good. Maybe worth a look at?
Hi
Thanks.
I did spot that one last night while browsing and it sounded ok. However I found a small b&b near kings cross but according to reviews isn't too noisy, near enough for underground and not too far from where we need to be.. Think it was £133.00 for 2 nights for both of us. cheapest I've found so far with accomodation that has mostly good reviews, only complaints were very small rooms, but that is fine with me.0 -
For central location cheap stay at www.royaladelphihotel.co.uk a small hotel a bit down at heal but right on Trafalgar Sq (£75 per night).
Visit www.walkit.co.uk to see how close everything is on foot.
For theatre tickets go to the half price ticket booth in Leicester Sq.
Good upstairs restaurant next ot the Royal Adelphi Hotel in the Princess of Wales Pub or around the corner on Whitehall a Weatherspoons pub right next to the trafalgar theatre.
If you have air miles you can get bargains. I have converted each air mile for a stay at a 4* central London hotel in August into 42p of value. This means I have converted my TESCO clubcard points into 10p worth of value for each point.0 -
I stayed at the Premier Travel Inn at Euston last year and I didn't think the outside noise levels were bad for central London. All in all it was a decent hotel for the money.0

Just an update.... up to now we can't go!.. just going to be too much money. My head keeps telling me the money we'd spend for 2 nights in London, as much as I really want to go as does my DS, he's gutted, I would then spend the week after thinking I really could have used that money to pay something towards a debt, or since we've been struggling some weeks to just get some food.. seems a bit silly. Although at the moment we are okay. I probably could scrape together the money to go and hopefully have a great time.... could do with a break to be honest.. but I also have 2 other children who would need to be looked after while we were away. My partner will be looking after our business so if he has them, he won't be working as such, my Mum may be able to watch them a little bit, so kinda stuck.. feel guilty again!! Grrrrr for guilt.
Anyway, as it is creeping up on the day we'd need to go, chances are looking pretty slim... in saying that all is not in vain, since if we don't get now, I am aiming to take DS during the summer holidays to possibly see a show or two, if we save some more money by then, for him leaving primary school, doing well in SATS (providing he has! ... believe he will have) etc. So at least now I have a few ideas on accomodation and rough prices... never know, may be able to get Trains cheaper too?? lol
Thanks for everyone's help with this.. just a shame about this weekend.

Travelodge have released some more rooms in London during the school hols. many only £19 a night for a family room, you could all go as a family as sleeps 4 (know there are 5 of you, but if one is an infant, you could bring a travel cot). The Travelodge in Park Royal have £19 rooms available for the w/c Mon 11/8 every day. It has not got great reviews, but if only a base will be fine. I pass by it and it is opposite a leisure complex with bowling, cinema, places to eat etc. 5 mins to tube station and about 10-15 mins into London by train. Also has parking, if you are driving into London and just outside the congestion zone. Depending on where you live, as said before you could get cheap flights or megabus do bus single fares from £1 (I am off to Cardiff from London for a short break with hubby and 2 girls for £16 return in August). Ryanair were also doing 1p flights (not sure when finishing including taxes n fees for Tues and Wed to Dublin) £10 for a daily family pass to use on all buses in city and included airport bus. Friends have booked a 2 day short break flyuing out at 6am and returning 10pm following day for 8p.0
