Hi there,
I've tried to set up my Netgear D834GT Wireless modem router, but it's not getting an internet connection. I've checked all the cables, filters etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.

Try login into the router. Look on the left, then click 'router status'. You can also see the connection status (at the bottom of the 'router status' in the centre section). I can't remember if this will give you an error message if there is a problem.
While you are in the router settings. I would double check your ISP settings as well. Who is your ISP?How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

I've had a quick look, and there is no error message.
My ISP is BT.
Thanks for your help everyone.0 -
Hiya,
Have you tried updating the firmware? Go to Netgear's website and download the latest Version 1.01.28 firmware for the DG834GT router. This apparently has updated drivers which give better support for ADSL2 and ADSL2+.
To install the drivers you click on "Router Upgrade" on the Settings page and follow the instructions. Worked for me!
Good Luck!0 -
if you replace the router with your old modem can you still connect to the net? make sure there's no problem actually connecting.0

I had to change the settings from my adsl to the router setting. To make my router the default conection.
I'm not very good at explaining as I struggled to do it myself. Go to control panel/internet connections and change the settings. [keep note of any changes made incase you need to change back].
