another Italian loss

As I thought my last item that was sent to Italy in Mid May has failed to arrive..oh joy.

All I'm doing at the moment is refunding right left and centre for all sorts of reasons. I'm just about to go and change all my auctions not yet live to UK only as I can't take the stress of Italian buyers and stuff not arriving any more.

custardy, I'm just a bit fed up to be honest, my recorded delivery item from Monday doesn't show as delivered and my seller won't refund until I can prove they have it. I've also got a pile of complaints just waiting to go in to RM for the items that were sent unstamped..so you will have to ignore me.

ive spent my day dealing with compliaints too :(
from high end customers (they are a pain as i have to be nice ;)
to the lowest dregs of our delivery area
nearly all caused by the recent RM cuts and summer (col)lapsing of duties

I had various family members who used to be involved in senior levels in the post office and it would break their heart to see what was happening now.

    its horrible
litterally gets worse by the day
    some examples today
driver couldnt find keys for the pouch boxes on a duty(where he drops off the foot posties mail)
takes the posties keys and arranges to drop the mail off and then meet the postie to hand the keys in
postie ends up back at the office at 1.30pm asking what the $$*@ happened to his keys/bags
so thats 5 bags of undelivered mail to deal with tomorrow
yet again the 2nd delivery to my main big customers failed as i have no drivers
i went through the new complaints emailed via customer services
    8 new ones needing actioned.
all regarding failures(either delivery/redirection) on the lapsed duties

heres an interesting quote from another postie in another DO
We've just had 4 new staff start, who are with us via a "back to work" agency.

Trouble is RM don't pay them for 4 weeks the agency does. - Cheap labour, DOM must be laughing his sox off - 4x 30 hr x 4 weeks - You work it out! Nice big saving.

They have been told they can't claim overtime from RM and they were going to get 4 weeks training!!!!!! Yeh, they got 4 days.

Will they roll it out across the country, who knows.

one was seen at 6.00pm still delivering!!!! So where do the slip-left packets go????? Pouch box, Home???

    I despair.

Soolin, I sympathise on the Italian losses. Where does all the stuff go? Maybe the Italian Postal System is profitable because they auction people items lost in the post on eBay.it:rotfl:

Italy is our biggest problem. If it doesnt get lost it takes about 3 weeks to get there. We have specifically written to RM, who keep saying they are not aware of an issue, to say that there clearly is and direct them to the eBay boards where others keep moaning about Italian mail losses too. I cannot believe RMs stats for loss claims dont show a peak against Italy addresses.

when I have had bidders from Italy I
always make them pay for international
    signed for insurance.Noticed that nothing
happens to the insured mail it always
arrives.I do think that there is major
pilfering going on in that country
    when its uninsured airmail

    Because
    of
    pressing
    the return
    button
    too
    many
    times.
Which does make it a bit harder to read.
