Thursday 12/06/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Anyway today i have/will
  • Checked internet banking
  • Clicks
  • Storecupboard lunch
  • Working in veggie garden
  • Pick more salad stuff for tea:D
  • Sort out spreadsheets(again:rolleyes: ) pay day tomorrow as 15th falls on Sunday:D
  • Put a load of veg peelings and shredded paper into compost bin
  • Make a loaf in breadmaker
Morning everyone, much cooler here today but it's a workday so that's okay:D hopefully will warm up for the weekend.
Have a good day everyone. Sans if you haven't already left have a good holiday in Florida:j .

    Morning All
Rainy here, but I'm hoping it'll brighten up this afternoon.
    Today I shall/will:
    • Brought in my lunch (4th day in a row :D )
    • Another NSD - though may have to get cat food......
    • PC's done
    • Done my On-line banking, and should be able to pay off the 0% cc in time in August (can't find a fingers crossed piccy) AND pay for DS2's school trip.
    • pay in cheque from shares (hence previous commitment!)
    • post an e-bay parcel
    • list 12 more of Popeyes toys on e-bay at 5p listing fee :money:
    • make fish pies to use up some of the milk lake I've acquired, using ingredients I already have.
Can I just recommend an OS challenge that I've been doing? It is to do with not wasting food. I've had amazing and inventive meals using up stuff that could easily have been thrown. (eg an assortment of going off fruit turned into a crumble that the kids ADORED. Though they wouldn't eat the peaches and plums that had gone over the top, they did when they'd been cooked :rotfl: )

All the usual - although is anyone having any trouble logging in to Quidco?

Will write another 500 words of my novel - it's my dream to get published!
  • Hello all! Where's the sunshine gone?

Another low key day for me today...
    • checked mine and OH's internet banking
    • updated my spreadsheet - am coordinating a wedding gift at the moment so I need to keep track of what people give me so I don't spend it
    • Brought in homemade sarnies
    • the rest of that awesome lasagne for dinner :D
    • have tried calling for a free fake st tropez tan courtesy of grazia, but esporta aren't answering... we're going to the races on saturday for a 30th (in the posh bit so i need to wear a dress) and would be nice to have a glow :o will try calling again in 5.
    • got my wine vouchers from tesco but am sulking with them because they've put marmite up to 2.50 a jar - have put everything through mysupermarket and they come up about £3 cheaper than sainsbos, so might just stock up on jars in there, and carry on ordering with tesco.
    That's all so far!

Sans, have a great time on your holiday.

Taplady, lucky you, hope you have a nice week in Devon.

Oliveoyl, i already do that challenge, however am not having as much luck as you. I think its baby steps for me at the mo but i am wasting less and making cheaper meals so its having some sort of positive effect!

I would have posted much earlier, as i decided to get up early instead of having a lie in. I'm not due at work till lunch time, although have to leave at ten, however have found that if i sleep in i feel worse for it. Didn't get to post earlier though as my boyfriend was being lazy and staying in bed so had to be on the computer quietly!
