Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email [Removed by Forum Team]How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

This is still in the wrong place... it should be in the sticky on the referrers board... where there is a thread specially for this useless dross...0

but as you can see from one of the posts - Gordon Brown ordered it to be removed. This is unconfirmed.
I doubt it was Nanny Gordon...more like Captain Darling had apoplexy when he heard about the petition and threw a tantrum until Nanny shoved a dummy in his mouth and promised to have a *quiet word with the fairies at the bottom of the garden..*All these years since I left school and I've never once had to use Algebra0 -
How about a chav tax where you are taxed for being chav ASBO scum?
How about taxing the richest people more and closing tax loopholes?
How about cutting red tape and making loads of civil servants redundant by streamlining the Governments systems and taxes etc?0 -
Why did he not use his free bus pass, provided by this same government
There could be a problem of course if the appointment was before 0930, but would Patient Choice, provided by this same government, not cover that as well?
He had to be at the hospital for 8AM and this government dont provide bus passes that can be used in peak hours, he also has waited nearly 3 months for this appointment so the patient choice provided by this government was not much use either ! :rolleyes:0 -

" How about taxing the richest people more and closing tax loopholes?"
People on high incomes are already taxed at a rate of 40% for income tax alone. it wouldn't be fair to target the rich exclusively otherwise there would be no incentive for anyone to get a successful career. Also its quite alarming to see the number of motorists who waste fuel by insisting on reaching 40 mph in built up areas within a few seconds of the traffic lights changing to green and tailgating those sensible ones who dare to stick to the 30mph limit.0 -
i also feel the rich should not be taxed higher,or the motorist, why tax success?
instead tax lazyness,if you cant be arsed working then you get nothing....work permit granted!0 -

But when you get a 6 figure salary like £500,000, an extra 10% tax is only an extra £50k, and they still take home £250k, far beyond most peoples needs yet sufficient to keep such people happy in the job. When many people are expected to be get by on under £3,000 a year based on the rate of Jobseekers allowance http://www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/jcp/stellent/groups/jcp/documents/websitecontent/dev_012059.pdf and most people are expected to be pleased with a take-home pay of £8,700 a year on minimum wage (which is not much more than Jobseekers allowance when you slap on all the costs you get when in work such as rent, council tax, transport to work etc). £250k a year is a complete dream, and an extra 50k tax is neither here nor there when you get £250k anyway.
Decreasing taxes for those earning the lowest wages and increasing minimum wage would help make work more appealing - as would decreasing benefits and increasing taxes on booze and fags.0
