Help!! Mobileshop requesting £50 security deposit?
My brother has just started work after graduating from Uni and has just ordered his first Pay Monthly Phone deal from Mobileshop.
He has also just moved to new digs.
As he has been at his new residence for less than 3 months, Mobileshop asked him to submit bank statements etc to prove where he was living prior to the last 3 months. They accepted his proof of address but they have now, out of the blue, asked him for £50 security deposit.....should he pay or is this a bit dodgey?
Has anybody had this kind of request from mobileshop or other mobilephone companies?
Thanks in advance
Moomin

standard request from certain network providers when credit checked0

is it dealer or provider that wants the £50 ?Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0

I believe the request has come from O2 - so I guess it should be OK as they are pretty well-established.0
