Does anyone have any advise for drivers getting back on the road after being disqualified and what insurance companies are best to use? Are there any loopholes eg. buying a car abroad and getting insured there?

Use the comparison sites to get a ball park figure then do a search on this forum for brokers who specialise in disqualified drivers.

If it was a ban for DD, expect a fair hike in premiums. I don't think there are any legal loopholes to insure outside of the UK and keep it here on a permanent basis with a non-UK policy.

........... If you have an accident your insurance may be invalidated, if you injure someone you may be personally liable for damages and if you get caught expect an even longer ban or even a holiday in a single room at one of her majesty's hotels :A
