Thanks minimacka for the link, I will check it out! I am thinking of subscribing to scrapbook inspirations magazine as there is a great kit that you get when you sign up, so that might give me a few ideas as well!

There is a very good scrapper's website - www.ukscrappers.co.uk I'm a member there and although I don't scrapbook myself (I'm a cardmaker and the proud owner of a new Craft Robo!) they have loads of helpful advice and ideas.

This website may help a few people

    http://www.craftbits.com

I've made a few things from the site and it has lots of different things, including kids crafts.

I make jewellery and also have just started getting into altering things. I will probably be making beaded bookmarks for friends, maybe decorating some notebooks/telephone books. I saw a lovely notebook which had been decorated with mulberry paper and skeleton leaves which I may try recreating, similar to the ones on here

Otherwise I already make my own cards, so will continue with this and I have already started making my Christmas cards, as I managed to get a few supplies in January which were reduced to silly prices.

Had an idea to make my own door hangers like these. These K&Co sets cost about £6-£8 plus p&p. I thought I could make my own by using these (or something similar) and decorating with patterned papers, stickers, ribbon etc. I was thinking of doing them for kiddies, boy and girl theme and for mums (a sort of pretty 'do not disturb' sign to pop on bathroom door :rotfl: ).

Alternative present for kiddies is to cover the plain sign with paper and then give as present along with embellishment bits and glue for child to decorate their own.

    What do you think?

    Well im getting there folks

These little stockings are for going on the xmas tree... loads more to do, and im going to knit some cndy canes to go in some too- but i was also thinking they would make a great advent calender pegged onto ribbon, or for those of you making tour own cards... you could attatch one with a hanging loop so the recipient can then hang them on their tree

this is how far i am now with my mums xmas pressie..i should be ok now i have got into gear again as i can sew quite quickly

Thought I'd share this idea with you all, I have just come across this gift idea, a cheap funny gift gag to make for someone's christmas prezzie (or 2)

MrsMcawber - what cute stockings! You do sound like you are getting on well with everything - much better than me.
Rainmac - those door hangers are great, a really original idea.
Thanks for all the links everyone, this thread is really inspiring!

Just seen some lovely decorated wooden coat hangers on the Prima site they would make a lovely gift. Anyone know where I can get wooden hangers cheap as I might make them with our youth club girls so I would need 80+.
Primark sell 25 wooden hangers for £5 :)

MrsM - wow all looking good - i did wonder what it was you were sewing but then figured it when i saw the completed picture - doh! coffee hasnt kicked in yet :D . Im still looking for a few nice ones to do for christmas into cards but have had a nice flower one with candles which i think i will do for my nan as she is very religious.

Rainmac - i may jsut steal the door hanger idea - for the younger children in my family (ages 4,4,3,2,and 1) I am hoping to make them pyjamas bags with their names on and include a pair of PJs each, (i will be raiding primark or ethol austin for these) so i think a nice door hanger each would finish that off nicely for them.

Really will have to get a shift on with my projects soon.

QUESTION FOR ALL! Does anyone have any ideas of crafty thigns i could make for a couple? I have 2 couples to buy for (my dad and step mum, my great gran and her new hubby,) and i was thinking rahter than gifts id like to do them a nice couples hamper each - might include a bottle of wine or something similiar, candles, glasses, nice choccies, romantic CD, but dont know what other ideas i could include. Wanted to put somethign crafty in there too.
    Time to find me again
