Hi
Does anyone have any patterns for knitted brooches, I thought they would make nice Christmas presents and hopefully be quick to make. Unfortunatley I cannot crochet so any crochet patterns are out the window!!
All help greatly appreciated0 -

Love the little phone charms they are so cute! My OH was on about fimo the other day when we were in Hobbycraft as he wanted to use some for his Warhammer models (Mel will know all about that!!) wouldn't mind having a play with it myself hehe.
Still stitching away but I managed to hurt my back at work the other day so haven't been doing a lot! Nearly finished it though, but because it has a lot of fractionals its taken longer. Saving hard for a brighter future!:beer:0 -
piglet - love the phone charms. Never used that stuff before.......dread to think what sort of things I'd turn out...........lol
Just delved into my spare room of 'christmas' and found two winnie the pooh books I'd got for baby grandson and forgot about..........lol -something else to wrap.
Looked at the baskets for sons girlfriend and grandaughter and I'll have to re-do the cellophane..........they look awful I think.
Might have a go with that shiny wrapping paper.........
Found loads of odds and ends I need...........white elastic bands for grandsons shoe fresheners, brown parcel paper -enough for 3 shoe boxes, shiny red paper to see if I can improve on the mess I've made...........more cellophane in case it doesnt work.............and haven't got any christmas pj's for baby grandson.....not been able to get to primark and wondering if our woollies have any ladybird ones in..........bet they'll be a price !!
Need more choccy for 3 pots of gold................oh eck............:rotfl:Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

pig_let_cool - glad you got the chart ok! I absolutely love those charms, they are fab :T
mary - your house sounds like mine, I still have little clue where I've put everything I haven't wrapped yet (which is most of it to be honest ). I'm trying to sort a few things each week. I've got 2 cross stitch coasters to make but don't seem to be able to muster up the enthusiasm to get them done. Also don't know what I'm going to exactly stitch which isn't helping!
cazpumpkin, Ballyfuller Baxter & Shortie - welcome to the threadSorry don't knit so don't have broach patterns - have you tried searching on Google?

So... if anyone is interested I think that understanding this theory helps me work out who to buy/make presents for and who not to.
The idea is that there are 5 love languages; the way in which we show people that we care for them, friends, partners etc.
1) Touch- physical affection- snuggles and hugs and cuddles
2) Acts of service- doing something nice for someone- washing their car, making breakfast in bed, helping decorate their house
3) Quality time- Prioritising spending time together- Watching a film, going for a walk
4) Words of encouragement- Saying nice things- Compliments, letters, cards
5) Gifts- Buying appropriate and thoughtful things
If the way in which we show love is different from the way another person shows love then a conflict can occur. We think we are demonstrating how we feel but they may not recognise this as it is in a different language. I think when we spend hours creating crafts for people we are showing our love for them but the choice of presents inside should reflect their love language. For example; if they are a quality time person then putting together a basket for a movie night in together would appeal, for a words of encouragement person writing a poem or a letter saying how much you care would be well received.
I hope this makes sense, it has helped me in my friendships to give things which the other person appreciates rather than what I would like to get, perhaps we can help think of some gifts for the baskets for the people in our lives who aren't 'gifty people'God is good, all the time
Do something that scares you every day
