Hi, don't know if this is the best place, but here goes;
Shoiuld I "shop " a company of OH to the Inland revenue, VAT, HMC etc? Firm, run by 2 b*******, have wives on payroll, [they have never set foot on the premisis] They are moving large sums of money to another company set up soley in their joint names. £1m at least,to our knowledge.
Director taking intrest free loans with no account to other share hlolders.
Upping the price on jobs & pocketing the difference.
Private work not going through the books.Know this as asked if wished to pay cash for our work, to save them tax!!!! We declined & took our buisness elsewhere.
And so the list goes on......... & on.
Have put one employee into early retirment due to poor health, thier bullying tactics nearly cost him his life[wife returned home early, saved his life]
They sit so smug in their little world, totally aware of the misey they are causing.
And no, there is no personal connection before anyone asks. We live in a small community & know loads of people in the area.Just feel very sorry & angry for the people they have hurt.

yes, let the tax man knowLife is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0

Some people say live and let live - others take it upon themselves to report it.
My advice is, if you feel they are doing something wrong, report it. Let the right people look into it - don't go around telling people or you may find yourself linked to someone reporting them.

I think this link lets you report it without leaving name and address.DFW No. 344

If you know someone is breaking the law why would you NOT report them?0

if you think they are doing something illegal you should report them. Would you stand by and say nothing if they were stealing from someone you knew? if they are doing this then the law should become involved. You could stop them hurting somebody else.LBM-2003ish

jealousy is horrid isn't it.
you'll find their wives are company "secretaries" just cos they don't go into the workplace doesn't mean they don't do secreterial duties at home (however it's unlikely) but you'll find most small businesses are set up like this and if they can justify it to the tax man nothing will come of it.
no doubt they are playing the system and have a good accountant that's telling them how & what to play.
granted doing cash in hand work is a bit low, but again there's probably 99% of small businesses that do the odd job for a bit of cash.
feel free to grass them up, but i doubt anything will come of it.
for the record, i'm self employed and it's amazing the amount of things you can put through your accounts as "business" expenses, as long as you can justify it to the tax man, nothing to worry about.
for instance me getting my car windows tinted, digital camera (for site visits
) etc etc all business expenses

not ashamed at all.
why be ashamed of something i'm not doing anything illegal, all my accounts are shown in a true & fair view (just depends which side you're looking from i suppose)
blame the stupid self-employed tax rules.
my windows tinted are no different to a company van getting theirs tinted for security reasons, i sometimes have computers in the back of my car so there's the justification, my car is classed as a company vehicle.
working from home a few times a week allows me to claim back half my rent & utility bills too, it's stupid really but there's the rules and i stick to them.
ps have never worked cash in hand and am fully VAT regged too, i know not to f*ck around with HMRC but also have a good idea of what i can and can't claim back for.0 -

ITA. People employ accountants to avoid tax were legally entitled too. Tax avoidance is legal - tax evasion isn't. A good accountant will know the difference. Blame the government, not the individual.0 -
My taxes are high because of people who don't pay tax.
Report them !0
