Vodafone Live subscription problem - advice needed.

I've been checking my Vodafone account online today, it turns out that since December 2006 I have been paying £5 monthly for a 'Sky News, Sport & Factual Pack'.
I am certain that I cancelled this subscription very early on as it had a free trial period and would have a recurring cost, in fact I cancelled Vodafone's (initially free) phone insurance policy for the same reason and during the same call to customer services.
My fault for not spotting this a lot sooner, but I've never had a reason to check managed subscriptions - at least not until now..
So, do I take this loss on the chin and put it down to experience, or can I escalate this with Vodafone - and if so, how?
