Faulty phone but no options!

Hi - hope someone might have a little bit of advice for me!
My phone was last upgraded in December (managed to get a cheaper contract and a phone thrown in for free - hurray for me) and it has been absolutely fine until this week when it developed a fault, which after talking through with the service provider, is definitely a hand-set fault.

Now the dilemma - as I don't have any cover for the phone with the service provider, they gave me 3 options:
1. Pay £70 and they'll just give me a new phone
2. Pay £30 and then £6 a month for cover purposes and they would give me a new phone
3. Send the handset back to the manyfacturer as it was within 12 months

Are there any key things I should be considering? I only got the phone on 16th Dec so have had it for less than 6 months - does this matter??

Help!

  • Your network should send it away for repair as it's under warranty. Or you could send/take it yourself to the manufacturers repair centre (I think CPW are official Nokia ones but don't quote me on that). The network is only obliged to replace the handset outright if it's less than 30 days old, or has been sent off x-number of times for repair (I think O2 replace them after 4 repairs or something like that).
If this has been of any use please click on THANKS, it makes me look good.
