I like MrB, I think he is a wind up merchant who does not really believe half of what he posts, but his discussions with others make great reading.
There were a few Bulls over at GHPC, such as Columbo, who would make posts which then turned out to be contradicted by events. They would then be reminded of it in as amusing a way as possible.
Now they seem to go there a lot less frequently (wonder why?) There are so few comedy Bulls to argue with now, this board seems to be their last natural habitats (they are endangered even at Singing Pig).
The facts are so clear now that arguing with them is like arguing with Michael Palin in the Dead Parrot sketch (which I have only recently started to appreciate).Politics is not the art of the possible. It consists of choosing between the disastrous and the unpalatable. J. K. Galbraith0 -

Columbo was different, I find him annoying and far, far up himself. Mr B is more of a cuddley type of bull (but he would never admit it!)
*edit to add - I look forward to reading discussions between yourself, pickles and MrB0 -

Funny, even the land registry recorded a -0.2% fall for April. Fiddled figures from the government?
Besides, this DCLG stuff is for completions in April from sales months before, here's some more up to date figures:
http://www.hbosplc.com/economy/includes/05_06_08HousePriceIndexMay2008.pdf
Halifax May: -2.4%
http://www.nationwide.co.uk/hpi/historical/May_2008.pdf
Nationwide May: -2.5%
Laggy, but here's the Land Reg anyway:
http://www1.landregistry.gov.uk/assets/library/documents/hpireportapril2008.pdf
But believe what you will.
According to HBOS figures prices are down 7.77% since August
If you include inflation since August you could call that 10% (only 40% to go :rotfl:)
I don't know where they pull their figures from,, out of their a***s apparently.0 -

It appears property prices never go down according to DCLG surveys.

We go easy on you though as it's not fair to poke fun at those who've had a lobotomy.0
