Is it safe to give dogs Ice cream/lollies?

    I suppose Ice lollys will be better for them than ice cream.
    My mutt loves ice cubes, I give her a couple & stick some in her water bowl.
    Dogs don't have as many tastebuds as people, so can't really taste very much, they prefer the texture of food. Mine love crunching carrots & crushing grapes.

    To keep your dog cool in the hot weather try filling a spray bottle with water & playing 'squirt the dog'. Mine goes mental as soon as she sees the bottle and loves trying to run past while I give her a spray.

  • I spoke to my dog trainer, who used to train police dogs. He said it was alright to give a dog one child's size scoop of ice cream, but no more than that because it might chill the dog's stomache.

    i have a lhasa apsa and we cant have a lolly or ice cream without her wanting some ..lol
  • If we get some decent weather again I think I'll let it have some, but not too much!
