Ok, I keep getting stuff in the door about talktalk broadband and phone. It's so damn cheap. Obviously I've heard all the bad reports about customer service etc but recently I've noticed less negative on the web about them.
Have they got better? Should I risk it? Has anyone got TALKTALK and are happy with it?
I'm with plusnet for phone and lowest package broadband but my bill usually comes up to £30 as I keep going over the usage limit. They are an excellant service which I've had no problems.

We've been with Talktalk for about 3 years now, and I must admit that I've never had any problems with them. For around £20 per month, we get line rental, broadband and free anytime calls to landlines (including to some other countries). I've never had any problems with them, but realise that other people have in the past.
I don't think I've ever had to call customer services, so wouldn't want to pass comment on that side of things. I know some people have had problems with customer services though ....0 -
I switched to Talktalk about 2 years ago and they took over payment of my BT line rental.
When I then moved house, I found that Talktalk are not able to move your exsisting number to your new house.
I had a number that I wanted to keep and spoke with BT.
They advise me that Talktalk are not licensed to move numbers as this was not an option they pay for.
During the time I was with Talktalk, I was happy with their service, however their inabilty to transfer numbers when moving house is a major problem for me and I am sure, for others.
I cancelled my account with Talktalk, although even that was not easy as all Talktalk service lines are routed to Cape Town in South Africa !!!. I could not make them understand the problem of changing a number that I had for 15 + years would cause me.0 -
I had broadband with TT for 2yrs. In Dec2007 they insisted I migrate my BT landline or they would stop my broadband. I complained& was assured brdbnd would continue. One month later it was cut off. They apologised, re-instated Bband but the computer systems disconnected us again in February. They admitted their mistake but the only option available to me was to join the queue again for broadband!! So I went through account details telling them info they already had: I then learned I would have to wait possibly 4 weeks and pay a joining fee of £29 (which they promised to refund). I said this was unacceptable and joined BT. Since then I have been getting bills from Talktalk for an account I did not complete procedures for. I have sent numerous e-mails. I have sent bills back to Talktalk. I have told them they are breaking the data Protection law keeping my details on file. I have been given assurances on the phone that the bills will stop but they have not.
Talktalk have now employed a debt collector!! Looking on the brightside I may get my name on Consumerwatch TV!! Talktalk lost my business because they tried to bully me into migrating my BT landline. They are now trying to bully me into paying £73 I do not owe them. My opinion on them is not printable. Be warned!!Filiss0 -
