  • Got a succesful phone upgrade and new tarrif agreement today with Vodafone. Had been paying £25 for 200 minutes, they've put it upto 400 minutes and 50 free texts.

I think it definitely pays to talk to the people with some power. My nice new shiney Motorolla v525 should be with me tomorrow.

I then told my dad about it and he got his tarrif cut in half and a new Nokia 6820!! Mind you he does pay much more for his phone than I do. (That was with O2).

    :)

  • Hi

I am with Singlepoint/Vodafone, for a phone I pay for my daughter. I wanted a new specific phone and my contract was up in 2 months time. I told them "three" had offered me the phone I wanted and a better deal.

They offered me the Nokia for £100, I told them I wanted to cancel , so they transfered me thro to her supervisor who as reported above could do better deals and I ended up getting the phone for free.

My monthly bills were about £30.00. I changed also to another package which should keep the bills more settled  - 500 texts and 30 anytime mins for £30.00 and a free phone.

meant to say "THANKS MARTIN" ;D ;)

If your contract requires a month's notice to quit (outside of the minimum contract period) then even if you find the number has been transferred before the month is up they will still charge you the full month's rent - and be entitled to.

Thought that might be the case. :(

Does anyone know of any PAYG providers who, once my number is ported to them, will give me the PAC code and allow me to port back to Orange quickly?

My Vodafone/Singlepoint contract ends soon, and I'm about to start a new Vodafone/Vodafone contract. Problem is that Singlepoint want to charge £20 for PAC, but I can get it onto PAYG for free.

Having seen this thread, I've just sent for a cheap (£1.60) Vodafone SIM card, with the plan of porting my number to it, then getting the PAC and porting across to my new Vodafone contract.

I was assuming that this was possbile given stuff I've read elsewhere on MSE, but given the last comment I'm not so sure.

Does anyone know if I will be able to do this? And if I can, will I need to put some credit on the PAYG before I can request the PAC?

    TIA
  • I'm on Orange Talkshare (2 phones with shared inclusive minutes).

Spoke to disconnections and had a pleasant chat with the chap there. After some negotiations and quoting specific details of other suppliers offer and tariffs, he's halved my monthly payment to £30, doubled my inclusive minutes, added 60 txt messages and sent me 2 new Sony Erickson K700i phones. (they'll honour this price for 18 months even though my contract extensions only for a further 12 months)

well worth 10 mins on the phone to them

i have been with orange for the equvilent of 2 years (some of that time i had two running concurrently).
i was 4 months on 25/month one for 14.50 and the rest for 13.99.
what chance do i have getting the 3 tariff and a new phone.
i am not such a good negotiater (or speller).

having two contracts con-current counts for nothing I'm afraid usually, it's each contract on it's own for their calculations, and with a £13.99 a month spend I wouldn't expect much from them in fairness due to their stricter upgrade rules
