    2 points I would like to mention - 1 you could become a runaway spender by potentially cashing each cheque up to the cheque guarantee limit on the card (not saying you would but could) therefore what you are asking is potentially a credit facility, and 2 last paragraph is of no relevance at all to your application especially as your ISA savings is with somebody other than the CO-OP.

    I would suggest a copy of your credit report showing your defaults or CCJs as satisfied.The bank wont know exactly what is on your credit report only that there has been problems or that there are ongoing problems with previous credit.
