Have Virgin withdrawn their online version of regular e-savers? I can only find the "in store" one mentioned on their website.0

I have had HSBC regular savers for the last eight years and have always changed the standing order date to the 1st and opened it as close as I can to the end of the month. I have always had the correct interest applied.
i've been using these for years too.. i have my current one coming to fruition in the next few days: early September. they are still offering 5%, so i plan to just restart a new one straight away. is there a reason to delay opening it, and then bringing forward the SO?0 -
Please can I ask what is the state of play with TSB monthly savers?
Mine is maturing on September 3rd. Can you now open a new one online yourself? Vaguely I seem to think someone said it was not possible a few weeks back ...
Or can I do it over the phone?
Or does it have to be done inbranch? In which case can it be done at the counter or do you have to make an appointment?
Has anyone re started a TSB monthly saver very recently?
(Our branch is tiny. Sometime back we had to have an appointment to get OHs signature added to something and getting an appointment was proving to be very difficult. It turned out that the girl conducting the appointments only worked until 2.30 in the afternoon so if you were working it was impossible)“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

Branch - Yes, according to their webby.
Phone - Maybe - I did a couple of months ago, but others have since reported they couldn't.0 -

My partner & I re-opened accounts in late July. In our small (town-centre) branch, the earliest available apppintment was more than two weeks from booking which would have put us into the next calendar month. The counter clerk was helpful enough to try to make an appointment in other branches - the only option was in a big out-of town (regional) retail centre where they even offered to open accounts to walk-in customers - no need for an appointment, but we made one anyway since we'd have a 20+ miles drive. (Yes, I know it's crazy to make a 40+ miles round-trip just to open an account a month early but we combined the trip with visiting somewhere else). But it does seem odd that a branch in a big shopping centre should be better staffed than our busy town-centre branch and that had (subjectively) a low rate of visitors when we were there - perhaps it's busy at weekends?0 -
Well I can see this is going to be fun.
I rang my local TSB and made an appointment for the 4th but they had only one available at lunch time so that is my back up plan - I don't drive so I have to rely on OH being able to get out of week for a couple of hours. At least though I do have an appointment.
Otherwise my brilliant plan was to make an appointment at Chester TSB (I can go on the train so its much easier) so I tried ringing them except that they are not taking calls and you cant leave a message so you have to keep calling until you get through. I was hoping that they just make applications over the counter.
Then I was going to make an appointment to also get a Virgin regular saver but again they don't take calls, you leave a message and someone gets back to you.
These 2 are yards from each other in Chester so it would be very neat if I can co-ordinate 2 appointments in one morning, TSB and Virgin.
Plus it would fill the gap - I've nothing maturing in September 2019
Postcript - got an appointment for Chester TSB but I have a 15 day wait so I've vented my annoyance on twitter to the CEO.
Chester said it takes about half an hour to open one and they will need my ID - why???? It takes me about 4 minutes to open a new Virgin e saver online including funding it and setting up a new standing order.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0
