I've just been on the phone with a manufacturer of bubble blowing machine as dd needs a replacement, anyway got onto the subject and the lady kindly gave me the recipe for the mixture which is as follows
750ml water
250ml good washing up liquid
30ml glycerin (the secret ingredient), just using washing up liquid and water tends to clog up the blowing machine.
Hope this is of some use to any of you.

Interesting, thanks!
Our bubble machine is banned now!!
I found it very dangerous as we have wooden floors and all the kids were sliding around and hurting themselves.
I may get it out now and put it on the decking so they can play on the Grass in Summer, without the risk of slipping.:cool:0 -
same here, our garden machine is strictly for outdoor use!Fight for clean hospitals, C-DIFF takes lives

Dippychick - you got an extra thanks there - I thought I was at the top of the thread!!!
Thanks for this, I always used to just use water & washing up liquid when I was little but it no longer works....& it is so expensive buying ready made stuff all the time.

I bought my glycerine from Sainsburys. Very small bottle though.
I cant see it online though from them
so I looked at Asda: 75p for 38ml. you'll find it in the cake making section of both shops.
