Nokia 6300 help please

Hi guys, I have a Nokia 6300 which seems to be locked to the O2 network. I want to put in my current Orange sim card but its asking for a security code. Anyone know how I find this? Thanks ;)

  • If it's def asking for the "security code" try entering 12345. My 6300 on O2 isn't locked to a network but asks for the security code when I reset the message counter and it was default set to 12345 (if you have the manual it'll confirm this). Maybe yours is set up to ask for this code when you change your sim?
If this has been of any use please click on THANKS, it makes me look good.
  • i havent got the maual :o , 12345 didnt work either

Security code is one you have set yourself - or the previous owner. Ask them or sit down and try and remember.

Also after 3 tries it will lock you so you must wait about 5 mins.
  • If you have changed your security code from 12345 then you would normally need to take your phone into a Nokia Service Point. Here an authorised engineer would reset the code back to its default of 12345. You can find your nearest Nokia Service Point on this page: www.nokia.com/repairs.

There have been some reported cases where operators have changed security codes on some phones.

In these cases, the security code will be shown on the product information label on the box, usually close to the IMEI number. This number is not always marked as a security code.

If your phone was provided to you by your network operator, will not accept the code 12345, and you are certain that you have not changed it, then it is worth checking the product information label on the box before you go for the Nokia Service Point option
