Need to replace loved Motorola Razr V3
Hi there, sure some here might disagree but I was very proud of myself when I got a payg Motorola Razr V3 for £27 on Vodafone from Grattan online last year. From November I saved a fortune using it instead of my old contract phone. Alas it got dunked in the dog bowl yesterday by my 20 month old daughter. Can anybody....

- Help me locate a replacement (more expensive on Ebay!!!)
- Give me an idea what I could do with this one I have as I see you can exchange them for cash. Mine is still working currently but I have a feeling it is going to die and then it will be worth nothing and I don't want to be without a phone as I'm with the kids driving on my own a lot.

Hi
(1) Environfone will buy the V3 working or not. If you join them via Quidco you will get a couple of quid cashback from them as well.
(2) As regards a replacment it is not clear if you are looking for anothe V3 or any reasonable model. If you look at the pay as you go sections of Carphone Warehouse or Phones4u online you will see many reasonable priced models. Remember that you need one that works with Vodafone. Asda phones will also accept a vodafone sim and they have many decent models. Also you can get cashback from Quidco if you buy a phone from CPW or Phones4U.0 -
Here is a link for reasonable PAYG mobiles on Vodafone. The Motorola W220 is OK at that price though it has a basic spec:

Play.com have your phone for £40 on Vodaphone
http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4-/3271257/Motorola-RAZR-Pink-V3-Vodafone-Pre-pay-Mobile-Phone/Product.html
Its also worth checking out the refurb section on CFW, Phones4u, Vodaphone plus all the supermarkets for a reasonably priced phone now it isn't quite such a new phone.0 -
This one is only £20 on Orange, you can get them unlocked at a market/shop for round about a tenner.

so still less that the Play.com phone.0 -
Sorry I meant to be more clear.... ideally I'd like the same phone again as I got on with it so well, but I'm not too fussy... I don't need anyhting really snazzy as I only use my phone for emergency calls, texting (not picture messaging) and use the camera but that's it. Flip fone is massive bonus though as the screen doesn't get so battered! I was just so chuffed to get a decent phone for that price! Do you think it will pack up working? It got dunked on Saturday (for a couple of mins in clean water) then spent 48 hours in bits in the airing cupboard. It is working fine at the moment.....
I just don't want to suddenly be without a phone as I'm 37 weeks pregnant too and live in the middle of nowhere!
Thanks again everyone

Your current one may last but you could not be sure. The Motorola w220 at
CPW is cheap as chips and has a good reputation and you will have £10 credit with it as well. of course the £10 credit will be allocated to the new sim card you get with the phone you will not be able to add it to your current sim card. Depends on whether you wish to keep your old sim and phone number0 -
Oh thanks for that advice, much appreciated.... I phoned up Carphone Warehouse after looking at the link. He managed to NOT point out that of course the airtime is useless if I don't use the supplied Orange simcard! (No Orange signal where I live). He knew I wanted to put my vodafone one in! Ummm, might have to ring up again and try a 'Don't get done, get Dom!'. I've realised I could part-chop my phone in (for £10) but I don't know whether they'll find out it's been dunked even though it's working.

Hi
The confusion has arisen cos the Motorola is posted on TWO places on their website. Firstly in their clearance section but ONLY FOR the orange network, which is no use to you with your vodafone sim. These are returns and are in generic boxes.
It is also in the main pay as you go section under all networks and with vodaphone it costs £29.99 inc the £10 credit. If you ordered it online using the link below you should be Ok despite any dim CPW staff

Perhaps I am getting sad and should get out more...........0 -
Thanks for your reply, I'm grateful even if it does make you feel sad!
Think I'll try ringing the CWH muppets up again and seeing what deal they can do (with part-chopping 2 working Motorolas). I am an hour from a shop so phone and internet is easiest for me...
Thank you for all your help and if you come up with anymore nuggets of wisdom, I'm happy to accept them!

My current contract with Orange runs out in a months time :T As they have been pretty awful I'm planning to switch back to O2, and go for a SIM only option because it's better value.
I really miss my Motorola Razr V3 that I gave to my Nana, and as she's only just figured out how to work it, I'm not about to ask for it back. That means I'll need to find somewhere to get myself one of those phones on O2 PAYG so I can switch a contract SIM into it (saves the hassle of unlocking, unless it's really simple???). Has anyone seen one for sale at a reasonable price?
Thank you for your help!Live on £11k in 20110
