Hi,

Has anyone got British Gas Homecare? I need some advice. I want to cancel my homecare insurance and I've been with BG for under a year. Is it possible to cancel it and will BG apply any cancellation charges?

Thanks
MS

Yes they do so depending on how much you have used it. Check out

    Thanks for this.

I have contacted British Gas and they said they will be charging me aroun £90 to cancel Homecare 100. I have started with them in Jan and paid upto May which totals £60.00.

£90.00 is just to much. They have provided me an option to go on Homecare 200 for £8.53 Central Heating cover (I think the normal price is £11) but if I go on that it will count as a new contract and might I have to pay more at the end.

    Currently I am paying £12.00 a month.

is there anyway I can cancel the policy without paying that huge amount?

    Thanks
    MS

    Is there

Pass the debt to a debt collection agency??

However you may not be liable for any cancellation charges depending on how much you have paid.

Cardew, Well at present I have paid £60 that's £12x5. Jan to May. - How can I be not liable to cancellation charges?

    Thanks

I want to cancel it because a new boiler has been fitted by warm front which already has 2 years of warranty. Paying BG is waste of money.

I see. TBH I don't really think you have any way out of this you'll probably just have to swallow paying for the remainder of your 12 month contract.

Does seem a bit odd though that they wanted £90 for you to cancel. Is it worth ringing again and asking. Maybe the person you got didn't know what they were on about.

Sorry I hadn't seen the £60 in your second post.
